This evening’s quotes from Mourinho on the injuries to Terry, Drogba et al offer little help. Jose clearly sees some psychological advantage to keeping the prognosis of injuries to himself, refusing point blank to discuss the situation with the missing players.
“When you ask me abut John Terry and Drogba and all the boys who were not here, I don’t want to go in that direction because I want to respect the boys who were here,” remarked Mourinho after the game.
The suggestion however, is that Drogba will undergo a scan later this week on an as yet unknown leg injury. Terry meanwhile is set to miss 4-weeks with a knee injury and there are no reports to contradict that claim coming from Chelsea. The next 48-hours are going to be very interesting for us Fantasy Managers. Let’s just hope that Chelsea’s physio’s are a little more forthcoming than Jose with the information.
He did however offer one clue that today’s sub, Claudio Pizarro, seems unlikely to step into the void left by any Drogba absence. Jose remarked that Pizarro is unable to complete 90-minutes with his current level of fitness and indicated that he hoped to have Kalou back in contention by next weekend.
