Steven Gerrard will against Chelsea this weekend despite a broken toe. As I posted earlier, Gerrard saw club Doctors today following the injury picked up against Toulouse on Tuesday. Gerrard was found to have a hairline fracture in the tip of his big toe. A painful injury, but not enough to rule him out of the big game against Chelsea. However, Rafa has stated that after that game, Gerrard must be rested for “one or two weeks”. That would see Gerrard missing the Sunderland game on August 25 and possibly the Derby game on September 1. That would certainly put a big question mark over the wisdom of signing Gerrard as a possible Ronaldo replacement following the United man’s suspension.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
