Sunderland have suffered a double injury blow with news that Kieron Richardson and Carlos Edwards will be out for weeks. Richardson has suffered a stress fracture of the back and will be out for at least 2-3 months. Edwards meanwhile, has suffered a hamstring injury in training. He had missed several weeks with a similar injury and he could now miss another four games for Keane’s side.
The injuries are likely to mean to prolonged runs for Grant Leadbitter and Ross Wallace in midfield which should in turn see Danny Collins continue at left-back.
