Nigeria boss Berti Vogts has insisted that his players join up 2-weeks before the African Nations Cup – reporting for a training camp on January 4. Those plans would see players such as Everton’s Yobo and Yakubu, Newcastle’s Martins and Portsmouth’s Kanu and Utaka miss the FA Cup third round, as well as a possible five Premiership fixtures.
Other nations are yet to announce their pre-tournament plans although many Premiership and Fantasy Managers will hope that their players will be available to them right up until the tournament kick-off on January 20.
