It wasn’t the best of day’s for those Fantasy Managers who chose to invest in Blackburn’s strikers. Roque Santa Cruz was rested from today’s 2-2 at Fulham after International duty with Paraguay while Benni McCarthy hobbled out of the match after just six minutes.

With Rovers playing two fixtures in the Fantasy Premier League gameweek, seventeen thousand managers in the game transferred in Santa Cruz while McCarthy was snapped up by ten thousand managers.

McCarthy’s points were obviously limited from today’s match but the latest news indicates that he could well be available for the second fixture against Villa on Wednesday. It is reported that McCarthy’s injury is a cut to his knee which suggests he could make the game. Although Jason Roberts returned from injury to replace McCarthy today, Santa Cruz looks likely to start against Villa, so Fantasy Managers could yet see some return from the Rovers strike pairing.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
