James McFadden is out of the Birmingham squad for today’s trip to Reading after reportedly having keyhole surgery on a knee injury just this morning.

*Update* It’s been revealed that the injury showed itself after the Newcastle game and that Birmingham felt that the surgery was required as a precautionary measure. McCleish has now stated that he feels that McFadden will be missing for another two matches. That pencils him in for a return against Everton on April 12. Until then it’s likely that Zarate will get his chance. The Argentinian striker started in his place at Reading yesterday and notched his first goal for the club.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
