Everton’s Steven Pienaar is battling to be fit for the potential fantasy points bonanza against Derby at the weekend.

Pienaar picked up a calf injury against Liverpool on Sunday and left Anfield on crutches. Everton have carried out scans on the injury and, although they showed no sign of break, they did show up serious bruising of both his calf muscle and the bone in his right leg. That doesn’t sound promising.

The midfielder is just one of several Everton players who are likely to be under serious consideration this week with relegated Derby visiting Goodison. However, this injury certainly makes him a gamble while fellow midfielder, Leon Osman, is also a doubt after picking up a knock on Sunday [source].

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
