Arsenal have lost Mathieu Flamini for three weeks to the ankle injury sustained against Liverpool on Tuesday. Wenger revealed the extent of the injury earlier today and is now set to hand Gilberto a start at Old Trafford, with Diaby still serving a three match ban [source].
“I believe Mathieu will be out for three weeks,” remarked Wenger this afternoon. “It is a big blow but Gilberto has a lot of quality and experience. He will come in. He can help the team recover and focus.”
The Arsenal boss also revealed that they will be without Sagna at Old Trafford but Van Persie will be in contention.
