Arsenal’s Kolo Toure will be fit for the season opener according to Arsene Wenger.

It was revealed last week that Toure had contracted malaria whilst on holiday in the Ivory Coast and that he would be a doubt for the season kick-off. However, the Arsenal boss has offered some reassuring words on Toure’s progress.

“Kolo has started to practise again so that’s quite good news for us,” said Wenger. “It will take two weeks for him to play but he will be ready for the first Premier League game.”
