Gary Megson has confirmed details on the injuries to Johan Elmander and Matt Taylor today and it’s not good news. Both are set to be sidelined for a month or more.

Elmander suffered a hamstring injury in the Newcastle game last weekend and was subbed early on as a result. Taylor meanwhile, suffered a foot injury that was later revealed to be a broken toe. Taylor will now be sidelined for “five or six weeks” according to Megson, while Elmander will sit out a period of around “three or four weeks”.

Bolton take on West Brom at the Reebok at the weekend and Megson is likely to turn to Gardner to fill a role wide on the left of midfield while Riga Mustapha could also earn a start on the opposite flank, allowing Davies to take up a central attacking role. Bolton are also without Cahill due to suspension following Tuesday’s red card – Shittu is set for his Premiership debut.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
