Wenger has revealed that Gael Clichy could be fit for a return to action against Hull at the weekend.
The Gunners left back got on the wrong end of a clattering challenge from Bolton’s Kevin Davies on Sunday but escaped with a case of bad bruising to his shin.
“The injury will keep him out of training for the whole week but we hope he could play on Saturday against Hull,” remarked Wenger today.
“It’s bruising on his shin. It’s the kind of injury where if it’s broken it can keep him out for months or it’s only bruising then it’s only days.”
