Everton’s Mikel Arteta is a doubt for tomorrow night’s Carling Cup tie with Blackburn at Ewood.

The midfielder was suffering from the illness at the weekend but came through the game at Hull – and even earned FPL bonus from the match.

Moyes is set to assess Arteta’s condition tomorrow but is hopeful that he will be available. With that in mind, it seems unlikely that he will be a doubt for the Merseyside derby at the weekend, although it’s certainly a situation that many fantasy managers will be monitoring.

Arteta is enjoying more than a decent start to the season with 4 assists a goal and 8 FPL bonus points to his name. He is currently selected by over 28% of managers in that game.

In other injury news from Goodison, Tony Hibbert is now back in full training and will be in contention for a recall – that will give Moyes more options with Neville free to occupy midfield roles. Meanwhile, Saha could start tomorrow night having seen 45 minutes of action at Hull.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
