Arsene Wenger has kindly confirmed that Gael Clichy will be available for the visit of Hull to the Emirates at the weekend and also revealed that Silvestre could figure in his plans.

Clichy has been nursing a bruised shin following the “clash” with Bolton last weekend but came through a training session today and should take his place in the Arsenal lineup.

“I am really pleased that Gael is available,” proclaimed Wenger.

“He had a training session today for the first time and he should develop well in the next 48 hours.”

Silvestre meanwhile, is reportedly in contention for a role for the first time since his transfer from United. Walcott and Van Persie have shaken off slight knocks so Alex Song is Arsenal’s only doubt going into the weekend.

“Alex has a fitness test tomorrow,” said the manager. “He had a kick on his hip [in midweek] and it is very tender,” explained Wenger.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
