Chelsea’s list of injury concerns is extending by the minute, with reports today suggesting that both Terry and Alex could be doubts for the visit of Villa to Stamford Bridge at the weekend.

Terry was seen to be holding his back at the end of the match, while Alex was, quite literally, suffering from a pain in the posterior. We know how you feel Mr Alex. Hopefully, this is early scaremongering from journalists keen to talk up Chelsea’s “injury crisis” but we will nevertheless need to monitor this. I’ll speculate on the fallout from their possible absence when we know a little more.

Meanwhile, Scolari is apparently optimistic that Ashley Cole will make it back for the Villa game, dumping Bridge back on the bench (what a waste).
