Carlton Cole’s ankle injury, sustained against Boro this weekend is not a break but the striker will still face at least two-weeks on the sidelines according to reports.
X-rays indicated no serious damage but Cole will undergo further scans before a final prognosis can be gained. As it is, Cole is set to miss the league games against Bolton this weekend, the Cup replay with Boro and the home game with City. The clash with Wigan on March 4th would be a likely target return date for the in-form striker.
While it’s good news that Cole has escaped serious injury, this absence, however short, will come as a major blow to the Hammers and Cole’s many fantasy owners.
