Wayne Rooney will return to the United bench in tomorrow night’s Premier League clash with Fulham at Old Trafford. Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Rooney will play some part after resuming full training following a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile Fulham are set to recall the likes of Zamora, Paintsil and Dempsey after resting them in the Cup tie at Swansea. Hodgson does have doubts over the fitness of Johnson and Konchesky however, after they sustained strains in Saturday’s tie. Both will have fitness tests prior to the game but with Hodgson hinting that they could both be doubts for the weekend should they play, the Fulham boss may choose not to risk them.

This news could have major bearings on our fantasy selections for the weekend with Rooney’s return heightening the risk of rotation in the United attack prior to their Champions League tie with Inter. As for Johnson, he looks a strong contender for the picks against West Brom this weekend, although we’ll need to check on his fitness following the United game before he can come into consideration.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
