The Fantasy Football Scout Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants are randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the winner is the person highest in the overall standings. The winner will then progress to the next round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup.
Each gameweek the number of teams will halve, and when the competition reaches the last 16, Mark and Granville will make live draws on the podcast as we reach our exciting conclusion.
In addition, our partners Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes…
How do I enter?
Entry is open to registered users of the site (one entry per person… obviously). There is only one way to enter the cup; you must email me at akers@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk with these very specific details:
- Fantasy Football Scout Site User Name
- Link to your Fantasy Premier League team or ID number
Simple enough but make sure the link you provide is the correct one. This link can be found by clicking ‘History’ under your kit on your team page. It should be of the form ‘http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/entryhist.mc?id=X’ (where X is your unique 1 to 7 digit team ID number). N.b. Valid links do NOT end ‘myteam.mc’. If you fail to provide both these details, then you will not be entered into the draw. Please do not create a new, cup-specific team, only enter your existing team.
This is strictly first come first served, with 512 places up for grabs.
When does it start?
The first round of the inaugural Fantasy Football Scout Cup will be Gameweek 5.
How/When will the draw be made?
Most importantly, it will be a random draw. I will hand Mark the list of entrants, which he will randomise and then send back to me to be published.
Should there be less than 512 entrants, some teams may receive a ‘bye’ into the next round.
The full draw will be announced before the GW5 deadline.
Will there be another Fantasy Football Scout Cup?
Depending on the success of the competition, there may well be another Fantasy Football Scout Cup this season.
What is the prize?
Well, along with enormous pride, the winner will take their place as the first name on the Fantasy Football Scout Hall of Fame, that will be a permanent part of the site once the nine-week competition ends.
As alluded to earlier, Paddy Power are sponsoring the competition and providing some great prizes for Paddy Power customers (UK & Ireland) performing well in the competition. The winner will have £200 deposited into their accounts, the runner up will have £100 deposited into their account, and the winner of the 3rd place play-off will have £50 deposited into their account.
As well as that, there is a weekly prize of a £25 bet (deposited to their Paddy Power account) up for grabs for the highest individual score (minus transfer penalties). In the case that more than one person has the high score, the winner will be whoever is placed highest overall.
UPDATE: The cup is now full. The first round draw will be announced next week.
