Round 2 of The Fantasy Football Scout Cup, sponsored by Paddy Power is complete, and the full list of results can be viewed here. As the tournament reaches the final 128, here is a summary of those in the hat, and those who fell short in round 2…

The final two site contributors bit the bullet, with my tie ending Akers 57 – 62 Vol Moltke, and greek fan (57) had the misfortune of facing this weeks top scorer in the Cup, The Dinkum Donuts, who scored a fantastic 86 and bagged a free £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power. The 86 helped along after taking a 4 point hit to bring in Vermaelen.

Last weeks top scorer howcro had his fortunes totally reverse, getting battered by jcdonaggio 81-46 in the tie that had the biggest winning margin. At the other end, there were two fixtures that ended in a draw and had to be split on overall ranking. They were king999 50 – 50 zerothehero and Totallylegitimate 55 – 55 droghedans, with zerothehero and droghedans progressing thanks the their previous 5 weeks work.

The average score in the cup this week was 61, making chel51 a very lucky manager having gone through with the lowest score of just 48, beating Granville’s conqueror Lady_M (36). The unluckiest have to be Seal and Daslong, who exit the cup despite both scoring a very respectable 72. Their ties ended Seal 72 – 75 FallBlau and Daslong 72 – 76 Bend It Like Bennett. That tie between Daslong and Bend It Like Bennett was the equal highest aggregate score in all the ties, the other being Sir Steve Kirk‘s 80 – 68 victory over Mr CALM.

Some big match-ups highlighted in the round 2 preview saw MFaulkner beat …al 64 – 58, John trounced RafaMC 85 – 58, Pop Ooh Yeah F.C. bettered TorresMagic 57 – 51 and RoysBrotherJohnson was convincing in his 69 – 55 victory over Yidfan.

Other notable names through to round 3 are Kyle, Will, Super Jon (beating Nigel Tufnel 68 – 66), Pocky (beating Ryukishin by a single point), Steve, MegaSalviO, Sam (Team Sam), spiderman (seeing off Jonny 59 – 48), Comfy_Coxy, Sparky and many more.

Those of you still in the cup are just two victories away from being involved in the live draw on the podcast, and the chances of winnings the weekly prize keep doubling. So good luck to all and look out for the third round draw that will be going up on the site in the next day or two.
