Just a quick news bit to all those eager fantasy managers out there. Rafa Benitez has brought back some news from his latest press conference that will not be too satisfactory to a large chunk of the fantasy spectrum….
A whole host of players look set to miss out on the action this weekend. Steven Gerrard and Glen Johnson have been ruled out, while Martin Kelly and Albert Riera continue their stint on the sidelines. After playing his first competitive minutes for Liverpool on return from injury in the Carling Cup this week, Alberto Aquilani now has a virus to fight with.
On Steven Gerrard the pragmatic Spaniard gave us this…
“Gerrard still has a problem with his groin so he won’t be available this weekend.
“At this moment he’s working with the physios. He has to keep working and we’ll decide next week how he progresses. “
Whilst on the well-being of his roving right-back Glen Johnson…
“Johnson has a small tear in his calf, so we will lose him for maybe one week.”
So that’s a big set-back once again for Liverpool and fantasy managers alike. Among news from other clubs Bo Myhill looks set to miss out on Hull’s trip to Burnley and Ashley Cole (amongst others) has been ruled out of Chelsea’s trip to Bolton.
Keep your ears to the ground and eyes peeled for all of Greek Fans brilliant Scout Tweets which will provide all the pertinent details for fantasy managers on this Friday afternoon.
