After yesterdays interview with Barkerov, it’s now time to turn our attention to his opponent. One of the two remaining Irishmen left in the cup (seems apt what with the tournament sponsors Paddy Power), donnellyc finds himself in the semis after an epic quarter-final with Pure Olivia. Here is his Q & A interview ahead of his semi-final tie…

Manager Name: Charlie Donnelly
Team Name: WINE FOR MY MEN!

Current FPL position: 6,895th overall
Previous FPL record: 2008/09 – 266,284th overall

Q: How would you best describe your fantasy management style?

A: Preparation. Inspiration. Constipation. Not necessarily in that order.

Q: What has been you hardest tie during your Cup run?

A: Pure Olivia without a doubt. When Ashley Young missed the pen I thought I was a goner. Thankfully he scored later in the game to get me over the line but the tie could easily have went either way – ‘Pure’ bad luck some might say. The other guys I’ve faced were good but Olivia definitely had me worried so fair play.

Q: Can you pat yourself on the back Big Sam style with any inspired management moves along the way?

A: Sam must have the longest arms in football! Nothing out of the ordinary to date. Andy Gray has not asked me to take a bow once. I didn’t make a transfer in the last gameweek so that might be my moment of inspiration. The way the big names are dropping 2 free transfers could come in very handy indeed. I’m more than happy for Match of the Day to record the moment should it be a deciding factor. Would have to go some to beat big Sammy though.

Q: Who has been your star player to this point?

A: Cesc for sure. Where would I be without him?

Q: What do you make of your opponent Barkerov?

A: Anyone in the last four has to be respected. Very solid scoring throughout the season so far. Had a great season last season. He’s going to be a tough nut to crack. In fact, I’d like to stop discussing him now please. What’s good for constipation?

Q: Who do you particularly fear in their lineup?

A: Anyone I don’t have. Evra catches the eye, always liable to grab some offensive points. If he does they will be highly offensive indeed. Maybe he will injure himself while scoring an own goal in Paris on Wednesday night. I’m not greedy.

Q: Do you have any team selection dilemmas ahead of the semis?

A: RVP, Drogba?, Glen Johnson?, Turner suspended. Although everyone is feeling the heat with injuries at the minute to be fair. Now that I think about it, I actually feel a Sam back slap coming on with those 2 free transfers in the bank. Quick, get Match of the Day on the phone, I don’t know how long I can keep this going!

Q: Who would you choose to record your Cup final single should you make it through?

A: Oh, it would have to be an incomprehensible Shane MacGowan singing about Cuchulainn and the folly of captaining lesser players because they have a double gameweek. Come on, everybody join in…

Q: What kind of attire will you deck your team out in for the Cup Final pre-match preamble?

A: Well obviously Shane will do a no-show for the recording so I imagine t-shirts with his photo on them asking ‘Have You Seen This Man?’ Does anyone have Bono’s number?

Thanks to donnellyc for taking part, and good luck in you match up with Barkerov.

Tomorrow will be an interview with the tournament favourite and 13th in the world Breakballartist, before the final interview on Friday with his opponent Poshleftme.
