As featured in Greek Fan’s tweets just moments ago, Arsenal have this morning released a club statement announcing that Robin Van Persie’s ankle injury will now keep him out for four to five months…

The Dutch striker will require surgery in Holland next week to fully repair the damage inflicted whilst on international duty earlier this month. A massive, massive blow for Arsenal which will surely see them enter the transfer market for a striker in January.

We can now right off Van Persie as a fantasy option for the season and, in the short-term, this will promote Bendtner in our thinking for the Christmas period. He is due to return in a fortnight and looks certain to take up the centre-forward position, offering a decent looking low-to-mid price option.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
