Arsene Wenger has commented further on the injury to Cesc Fabregas today, although he doesn’t go so far to reveal the extent of his skipper’s hamstring problem.
The Arsenal boss reveals that he doesn’t feel the injury will prove to be a long-term problem, although he explains that he is yet to have the full results from today’s scans. Once again he confirmed that Fabregas would not face Hull at the weekend…
“The only thing that is sure is that he will not play on Saturday. Beyond that, it all depends on the scan. Is it a tightness that just presents a small risk on Saturday or is it a slight strain – grade one or two? We’ll know that later. If it is a tear it is a small one and the maximum would be ten days. So it is not long-term.”
Earlier today the Daily Mail ran a story claiming that Fabregas would likely make a return after this weekend for the home game with Villa. However, clearly results from today’s scans are not yet confirmed so it’s too early for us fantasy managers to be pressing the button on any transfers.
Fabregas is of course a key fantasy player this season and is owned by over 41% of Fantasy Premier League managers having returned 7 goals and 12 assists so far.
