Charles N’Zogbia was the best player on the pitch in Wigan’s 2-0 win at Wolves. The winger has harvested 3 goals and an assist in his last 6 Premier League starts to go with the brace that saw off Hull in the FA Cup. Perhaps more significantly, he has been awarded 10 of his 15 FPL bonus points across that spell. He’s in the form of his young career which is positioning him nicely for big fantasy investment for Wigan’s attractive double fixture in gameweek 26…

A constant threat to Mick McCarthy’s side on Saturday, with four attempts on goal – his biggest tally so far this season, N’Zogbia has now notched 22 goal attempts in his last 9 league starts. Clearly he is given the freedom to express his attacking instincts by Wigan boss Roberto Martinez, who has been drooling over his performances in recent weeks. Martinez has even gone so far as to draw a comparison to Lionel Messi.

It’s doubtful that us fantasy managers will get as excited. Having shifted classification from a defender to a midfielder this term, N’Zogbia will perhaps be an unfashionable signing given the amount of mid-price midfield fantasy talent available. He could yet prove a valuable differential in the month ahead though. Wigan have a fairly kind run of games to come in the next few weeks (bla EVE sun STK BOL) including that double fixture in gameweek 26 with Stoke and Bolton both visiting the DW stadium. At just 5.6 in the FPL, he surely looks set to get investment for gameweek 26, if not before.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
