Abou Diaby has no more than a 50-50 chance of returning to the Arsenal lineup for the weekend clash with Burnley according to Arsene Wenger.

Speaking in his usual Thursday pre-match press conference, Wenger confirmed that both Denilson and Arshavin were in line for returns following calf and hamstring injuries but the Gunners boss wasn’t so optimistic on Diaby’s chances…

“Arshavin could be available and there is a little, little chance that Diaby could be available again too. I am convinced that Denilson and Arshavin will be OK but for Diaby it is 50:50.”

That will come as a major disappointment to many with Diaby picking up considerable fantasy interest in recent weeks. The midfielder was reported to have returned to full training earlier this week but, unless Wenger is being coy here, it appears that he is still short of full fitness. We can only wait on an update from Wenger tomorrow.

Elsewhere, William Gallas is ruled out once more which is a bigger concern considering that Wenger also revealed that Sol Campbell is struggling with a groin problem. That could pave the way for Silvestre to earn a start at centre-back.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
