A big night for Rafa and his Liverpool mob as bottom club Portsmouth check in for a night under the Anfield floodlights.

All eyes will be on Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard who have the chance to push themselves forward as genuine end of season differentials should they inflict some damage on lowly Pompey. Liverpool have however, been struggling for attacking ideas of late so things could get a little fidgety should Avram Grant’s side put up some resistance.

The team news carries one notable shock – Ryan Babel’s retains his starting role, dumping the ever-reliably unspectacular Dirk Kuyt to the bench. Aquilani gets the nod over Lucas in midfield and Johnson starts at right-back, allowing Mascherano to take up his normal midfield anchor role. Benayoun is fit enough for the bench.

Share your yelps of joy and frustration with others in tonight’s Dugout Discussion which is now open for your business.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
