The Daily Mail and Daily Telegraph are reporting this morning that Wayne Rooney may have suffered further knee problems after limping heavily away from Old Trafford following yesterday’s 2-1 win over Liverpool.
Rooney’s swollen knee kept him out of the trip to Wolves earlier this month and the suggestion is that this has now flared up again making him a doubt for the Bolton and Bayern Munich fixtures to come.
Right now there is no confirmation from United with the Telegraph reporting that the club were unable to confirm Rooney’s condition. No need to panic yet then, although this situation clearly needs to be monitored carefully going into the weekend programme.
