The gurus behind the Metro Game have recently sent us word that they ventured into the realm of Ipod apps, handing those multi-tasking Fantasy Managers the opportunity to play tinkerman on the move.

Over pre-season we had a look at the game in great depth and when it comes to gameplay this is just more of the same, unsurprisingly given that it’s the same game built directly for the on-the-go iPhone user.

The interface is incredibly smooth and allows you to do everything you can do on your laptop or desktop PC with just as much, if not more, ease; whether it be making that urgent transfer while you’re being dragged around H&M by the other half, or following the action via the live scoring as the points roll in.

If you’re serious about the challenge for that £15,000 first prize (I’ve already had the survey done on a new extension) – or maybe “just” even the iPad on offer for topping the Fantasy Football Scout league, then the 59p outlay of this app looks worth a punt.

Agger & Kuyt are down and out, but then again nobody in their right mind would have them so it doesn't matter.

    Team is:
    Jaasky (Foster)
    Mummy Toure Shawcross (Alex Konchesky)
    Malouda Nani Nolan Bale (petrov)
    Caroll Tevez (c) Drogs

Any suggested changes? Could try and get rid of some dead weight (Petrov, shawcross maybe, konchesky) or just leave it for 2 next week?

id play petrov over nolan (because u have carroll) and malouda (expecting 2 points from him personally)

im bringing petrov in as bolton and brums fixtures rotate nicely for the next 10 or so weeks so him and barry ferguson will just rotate and ill play the other 7 attackers every week

No major weaknesses there, personally I would have 3 bigger hitters in midfield and 2 cheapies, so I would be looking at A.Cole OUT O'Shea IN and upgrading Etherington to Arteta, Everton and United's fixtures are good, and while on WC you need to plan for the medium term until you can WC again in January, other than that, as I said, no major weaknesses.

My only concern with Kolarov is whether he will play, I have gone for Boateng on my WC this week, but naturally, he picked up flu this week which puts him slightly in doubt, but safer none the less

What are peoples thoughts on the January WC. I have been thinking as a result of being on my WC this week, that if you are to use your transfer in the first week that you can, you can get all of the in-form players that may rise drastically in the 4 weeks you can use it, if you get on to players early you stand to make alot of cash on your players. That being said, team value gets less and less important as the season goes on, but it would seem to me a great time to use it, unless of course you are flying and have most of the form players and wait for any last minute transfers.

So, early January WC or last minute January WC or somewhere in between?

Looking at getting Fabs into my team together with VdV, preferably without losing Malouda (like everyone else).

I am fiddling around with my WC and I can get

      Foster/Gilks
      Simpson/Elmo/Boateng/O'Shea/Jara
      Nani/Malouda/Cleverley/Fabregas/VDV
      Odemwingie/Elmander/Drogba

with 2.3 in the bank. Having the midfield you talk about means ultimately either sacrificing a top striker, or weakening your defence

If you are not getting rid of Malouda why the questio re Davies? I don't think he will outscore him by 8 no

Personally i dont have a problem with limiting myself to one top striker and then going in the Camzey direction in regards to defence (dirt cheap that is).

Like the look of your proposed team although im holding off waiting to see if Dembele gets better.

Right...so...I, like so many others, have been trying to free up some cash for other "necessary" purchases. The Cashley and Malouda topics being high on most agendas. I did some research for myself to find alternatives to those 2 players, should I grow a big enuf pair to sell them. This is what I found:

    Cashley to Baines

Both have played 7 games and their stats read as such (Cashley stat first / Baines second):

    Touches: 76 / 74
    Succ Dribbles: 0.85 / 1.29
    Key Passes: 1 / 1.7
    Passes in Opp. Half: 0.9 / 2.1
    Crosses: 0.9 / 2.1
    Goal att: 5 / 3
    Goals: 0 / 0
    On target: 0 (1 hit woodwork) / 0
    Set Piece Att: 0 / 2
    Corners: 0 / 6
    Assists: 2 / 2
    Clean Sheet: 5 / 2

What I gather is that Baines is very unlucky to not be top of the defenders list currently. Successful dribbles and crosses averages higher than Cashley's per game - This implies that should Everton convert more goals his assists will increase. Add 2 set piece attempts and 6 corners into the mix vs Cashley's Zero and you can see his potential is greater. Cashley has 3 more clean sheets than him which has helped his cause greatly but lets say Baines got 3 assists from his crosses so far (9pts) and kept 2 more clean sheets (8pts) he'd be on 44pts...1 behind Cashley.

Figures vs Actual results however prove that my theory is simply that...theory...BUT...if you factor in a bit of luck and an upturn in form and well...Baines could be a great prospect. He's been just as good if not better and is only lower in points due to a bad start for Everton.

    Malouda to Nani

    Touches: 68 / 63
    Succ Dribbles: 1.86 / 2.43
    Key Passes: 2.7 / 1.3
    Opp Half: 29.4 / 22.1
    Crosses: 0.4 / 1.9
    Goal Att: 19 / 18
    Goals: 6 / 2
    On Target: 8 / 6
    Assists: 0 / 6

Malouda seems the better option between these guys. However, Nani has not clocked up the same totals as Malouda on most stats but he has been more accurate with his "Key Passes" and "Crosses" as he has 5 assists to his name already (Malouda = zero). Malouda has been nailing the goals and has the score to back those performances. If fixtures tighten up as they are doing now for Chelsea and the rotation factor comes into play (Nani almost certain to start a few games more) then you would probably want to back the accurate player. It really is 50/50 between these two guys but with assists, crosses and the accuracy of Nani...I can't help but lean towards him should Malouda find scoring goals a bit tough. Malouda's 54 is due to his goal scoring...has already made one sub appearance...Nani has 48 with a penalty miss to boot and also had one sub appearance yet got an assist (accuracy)...

Nani seems just as vital as Malouda and if your alternative option was him then I wouldn't be too worried of losing out on Malouda's potential...if you have both then well..NICE!

Thanks for reading. I hope this helps someone other than me...

That's some good research Pistol Fish. Interesting that Baines outscores Cole on most stats, but the key one for defenders has got to be clean sheets. For me though I wouldn't want to spend 7.9 on a defender so Baines wins

Doesn't matter how good you think your team looks, you won't be winning anything by taking 16pt and 20pt hits. LOL!

I agree and will stop but I dont mind taking a hit to get the players in and hope I get the players points than waiting and missing out. After taking hit for torres and making him capt for just 9 mins that hurt. My team I hope is sorted now so I will not be loosing any more points on transfers. (Fingers crossed)

Ps Its my 1st time so I am just enjoying the FPL at the Mo.... very addictive

          Cheers 4 advice WT

      I would start with

      OUT Gerrard + Yaya
      IN Nani + Adam

United and Blackpool have good fixtures.

GW9 L Young for someone getting you money to do
      GW10 Bale for Fabregas

    Elmohamady Bosingwa Kolarov Jara Foley

Fabregas Van der Vaart Ferguson Nani Malouda

    Elmander Drogba Carroll

How does anybody feel about this team in a couple of weeks when everybody is fit and raring to score me big points?
