A tasty home tie with the bottom-of-the-table team saw Fantasy managers transfer in Arsenal players in their droves prior to today’s games, but thanks to the heriocs of Rob Green, the vast majority will be bitterly disappointed.

The West Ham keeper made a fantastic 10 saves as he kept the Gunners at bay time and again before Alex Song finally made the breakthrough for Arsene Wenger’s side with an 88th minute header.

On the back of last week’s impressive 3-0 win at Eastlands, Samir Nasri was acquired by 172,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, Marouanne Chamakh by 107,000 and Cesc Fabregas by 48,000, as many expected a rout against Avram Grant’s strugglers. Indeed, our Captain’s Poll was fairly indicative of this optimism, with all three being in the top four slots for Gameweek 10.

Song, on the other hand, was brought in by a mere 4,000 managers, despite his goal at Man City last Sunday. Bearing in mind he is owned by only 2.6% of FPL bosses, the fact he has outscored the aforementioned players shouldn’t, therefore, have too much effect on the overall team rankings.

Song has now found the net 3 times in the league already this season, and given that his previous season’s best has been 1 goal, he’s showing a fair eye for goal this time round. He seems to have been given a remit to roam further forward than he’s used to, and so far it’s paying off.

Arsenal have now won their last five games in all competitions, but are making hard work of things at the Emirates in the league of late. Their last three home matches has seen a loss and two wins by just the one goal against opponents they have been expected to dispatch of with ease. Gameweek 11 allows them the opportunity to remedy that, as Newcastle make a trip to the Emirates.

Results elsewhere mean the much-maligned Green can take no consolation at all in his display, as fellow strugglers Wolves win over Man City gives them a three point gap over the Hammers at the bottom. Still, there’s always a bright side, Rob. At least you don’t do this every week.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Oh FFS. That player used to be Bale, then Drogba, then Fabregas, with a couple of Maloudas and VDVs and a Boselli thrown in.

I don't have Nani, and the 2,239,706 people behind me can kiss my a*se.

NB: That figure will go down by about 20,000 shortly. 🙁

Give over. He's the main man for one of the best teams in the league and only costs 8.8 million.

There is absolutely no excuse to not have him.

Lolz. Cech only made 3 saves today, yet apparently he kept Chelsea in the game time and time again today, at least according to the spanners on Sky. They're so anti-Chelsea it's not even funny.

        Sssshhhh..... 😉

According to guys on Sky we were absolutely battered, but it seems that we had more possession, more shots, more shots on target and more corners.

more corners as we started taking long shots towards the end in fustration, these were getting deflected behind.

More possession, however Alex and JT couldnt bring the ball out of defence, so it was going to Essien/JOM in triangles.

Drogba got nothing from the BBurn defenders and first half esp didnt look interested because of this. At one point looking like he was coming off with an injury.

We werent in it for the at least the first 30 mins. Cech done well getting to crosses - which would have landed on a BBurn head.

They were v.good on the break. Again Cech keep us in it.

          We were lucky tbh.

What an awful season for 'budget busters' - Fat Frank, Torres, Drogba, Rooney, Fabs....none of them are earning their corn. The route to success this year is budget defenders, quality second-tier midfielders and budget strikers.

I wondered exactly the same thing when that happened. Clattenberg waved the Spurs players away but allowed Rio to stand and listen to the conversation.

I'm not trying to implying anything here except that it doesn't really work in the favour of the referee to act like that.
