Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Florent Malouda is “available to play” against Liverpool on Sunday.

The Chelsea boss stressed in his afternoon press conference that Malouda had made a good recovery from the ankle injury that saw him miss Tuesday’s win over Spartak. He went on to confirm that Frank Lampard would miss out on Sunday and would not be considered until the Stamford Bridge clash with Sunderland next weekend. Michael Essien remains a doubt for Sunday with his toe injury still a slight concern.

Cech, Ivanovic, Cole, Terry, Alex, Mikel, Zhirkov, Drogba and Anelka were all confirmed in Ancelotti’s starting lineup. He went on to state that Essien or Ramires and Malouda or Kalou would complete the eleven.

The availability of Malouda comes as a major boost for Fantasy Managers and he would now seem likely to start at Anfield. It’s bittersweet news however – the consideration for Malouda owners now is that he could well miss out in one of Chelsea’s forthcoming home games against Fulham and Sunderland in the next week should he start at Anfield.

Earlier today we had confirmation that Nani would sit out of the Old Trafford encounter with Wolves and remain a doubt for City in midweek. Just moments ago we also had confirmation that Rafael Van der Vaart was out of the Bolton trip, while Aaron Lennon is a doubt for Spurs.

As always, all the very latest team news is being collected as it drops from the Manager’s mouths in our Team News section. Keep popping back and monitor the Twitter feed for the fresh new arrivals.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

if they were playing with each other, it wud be eggs in basket

but now if wigan score, n zogbia will likely to be involved, if not you get your cleanie from rob, happy days either way!

I think a lot are thinking the same...

If you have VDV probs Arteta.

Would you do Nani > Fabregas if you could afford it? Even if you have Nasri too?

        Thanks Lad

King i do have VDV yes,

        yes i already have fabs

i would definately at all cost get fabregas into your side over any other player. Having them both is not a bad idea i don't think Nasri been good this season even when Fabs plays. Only worri wuld have is now Walcott is back and although it will not affect fabs it may limit nasri's time

just went with arteta myself, spurs appear to have a recipe designed that when they return from europe, they're KACK

artetas fixtures are average to nice until at home to west ham where he will have a field day, get him now, save yourself the bother later on!

Are Bolton likely to play defensively at home?

steinsson is pretty fly for a white guy and in recent weeks bale has been shackled relatively well considering how awesome he has been in europe. admittedly some dodgy finishing by the tottenham strikers has helped keep bale quiet too.

Funny but I thought Benitez would have dealt with Bale much better than he did.
He obviously thought his superstars would waltz it!

Maicon is not a world class defender. He is a world class attacking full back, not the same thing.

To deal with Bale, you tell your full back to stick tight to him, and your right-sided centre back (or def mid) to cover. Bale doesn't tend to skin people with tricks, it's more pace and power, so don't let him have a 15-yard run at the full back like Inter did.

            Easy 😉

bendtner started in europe, chamakh came on when in trouble so it points to chamakh being safe for this weekend and i think he will be first 11 in mid term

when rvp comes back ,maybe reconsider then!

      but, chamakh and elmander

Ok. As many I decided to do Nani>Arteta, play Malouda and bench VdV.That means I have to play one out of Vaughan and Faye, whcich I'm not happy with. What shall I do?

    A. play Vaughan
    B. play Faye
    C. Faye > Distin (-4p)
    D. Vaughan > midfielder in the 5.5-5.8 range. Not sure if anyone (brunt, adam, song, parker) is worth a hit.

    Cheers.

To be fair it was a silly idea doing your transfer in the morning, Players prices won't rise until 2.00am the next day so no need to worry about that, especially with a Chelsea player, Ancelotti reveals a lot. And on a Friday, the biggest FF news day, players could also get injured in training etc. Still not a bad move in the scheme of things. Just remember next time.

I've been lax on here this week; is the general consensus on Coleman still that he's pretty much doomed to be dropped in the near future? My Bosingwa experiment bombed and I'm going to ship him for a Toffee defender, preferably Coleman but if not Distin - unfortunately Jagielka is out of my price range after his rise last night 🙁

      dont bring in colemand anyway

moyes gave a nasty quote, posted earlier, that said he was doing well but has had a little dip in form and ... i cant remember the rest, the next bit was the important bit too...it wasnt good anyway

also, re bosingwa, everyone was told he was unlikely to feature against tough opposition, would you not wait and see if he pays in either of their two home games!

Ashley Young almost guaranteed to play up front or close to it. Worth a punt over Barry Arteta? ful BLP is a tempter... I know they are playing super tight under Houllier but surely they are going to find some goals in next two matches.

Yeah i know hes playing, just not sure i want him anymore. Snid made a good point earlier that as i have drogba i would never captain Malouda. Also is comes down to having 1 potentially great ff scorer and a someone who will be on the bench each week or 2 potentially good point scorers.

Is everyone starting with Malouda? Surely it's better to know he's out rather than he could be out, or we're putting him on the bench, or we're starting him and hoping to get 60 minutes. Personally I would rather have the situation with Nani that is he definitely out of the game.

It's gone from Malouda out, to 50/50, to 100% he's playing.

So this is how I'm currently lined up:

    Foster
    Alex/Samba/Elmo/Coleman
    Fabregas/Malouda/Adam
    Drogba/Elmander/Carroll

    Subs: Harper/Williamson/Nani/VDV

    Am I looking ok?

The whole "Malouda is available - but I don't know whether I'll start him" situation is a pain in the arse. It makes sense to get rid of him for Arteta to free up funds to strengthen elsewhere, but with the midweek games, 2 free transfers might come in handy.

Opinions from you wonderful people would be appreciated.

I agree with you. It would've been easier if Malouda was out and Nani was in this weekend.

In all honesty, I was going to sell Malouda anyway and I think I'll still do that and keep Nani on the bench. Arteta looks the most likely to get the gig for me now and then Scout Parker next week for Etuhu whose done nothing but be injured for me!

As for the free transfers, I'm not overly wild about it. If you can bring in a player this week who you think will score big and you will keep for a while then just do it. Let next weeks points and transfers take care of themselves.

Way I see it, when Fab plays it's 2 from Nasri, Arshavin and Walcott, so I reckon it'd be a pretty big risk to take an injured player out for him.
