Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Florent Malouda is “available to play” against Liverpool on Sunday.

The Chelsea boss stressed in his afternoon press conference that Malouda had made a good recovery from the ankle injury that saw him miss Tuesday’s win over Spartak. He went on to confirm that Frank Lampard would miss out on Sunday and would not be considered until the Stamford Bridge clash with Sunderland next weekend. Michael Essien remains a doubt for Sunday with his toe injury still a slight concern.

Cech, Ivanovic, Cole, Terry, Alex, Mikel, Zhirkov, Drogba and Anelka were all confirmed in Ancelotti’s starting lineup. He went on to state that Essien or Ramires and Malouda or Kalou would complete the eleven.

The availability of Malouda comes as a major boost for Fantasy Managers and he would now seem likely to start at Anfield. It’s bittersweet news however – the consideration for Malouda owners now is that he could well miss out in one of Chelsea’s forthcoming home games against Fulham and Sunderland in the next week should he start at Anfield.

Earlier today we had confirmation that Nani would sit out of the Old Trafford encounter with Wolves and remain a doubt for City in midweek. Just moments ago we also had confirmation that Rafael Van der Vaart was out of the Bolton trip, while Aaron Lennon is a doubt for Spurs.

As always, all the very latest team news is being collected as it drops from the Manager’s mouths in our Team News section. Keep popping back and monitor the Twitter feed for the fresh new arrivals.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Is this good use of a wildcard?

    Robinson (Gomes)
    Toure, Coleman, Samba, Cole (Shawcross)
Nani, Malouda, Brunt, vDV (De Jong)
    Bent, Tevez (Carroll)

    to

    Robinson (Howard)
    Ridgewell, Coleman, Samba, Cole (Elmohamady)
    Arteta, Nasri, Brunt, Bale (Ferguson)
    Drogba, Berbatov (Carroll)

Berbatov will be long term though and without Nani, won't he be Man Us main attacking outlet?

Fergusons there as a bench player to release funds for others (i doubt i'll ever play 5 in the midfield).

Interested to hear what peoples thoughts are on Kyrgiakos over Konchesky? Similar price and Kyrg is a serious goal threat on set pieces and seems to be attracting a few BP too. I am looking to get a Lpool defender in over the next few weeks and he is a pretty attractive option. Do people think he will remain first choice when agger/skrtel are back from injury? He looks pretty solid now and Roy has been singing his praises. On the other hand Konch is a guaranteed starter.

    Thoughts?

He'll keep his place Luke, for his aerial ability alone.

      Go him over Konchesky definitely.

4 CB's for 2 starting berths tho. Id agree if there were 'just' 3 CB's vying for 2 but 4 when agger back will be v tough

Agger is out of favour with Woy, even when fit. It's between Carragher and Skrtel for the spot alongside Soto.

If I've made that sound like fact, well, I apologise.

simple really if he was guarentted a start kyrgiakos would be a no brianer. with johnson back he wont be guarenteed a start, even less so when agger is back. so no. next game is a small mobile wigan side after that though he may get a game against stoke

basically nobody really knows then. it's a real toughie and i will see what happens over the next couple i guess, but soto's performances have been formidable recently and i don't think roy has the same ties to agger/skrtel as perhaps benitez did. hes certainly made a strong choice to be first choice. i really like the look of him!
        thanks for the feedback guys

use the chelsea game as a clue. if skrtel is the one who is dropped for that then kyrgiakos becomes a serious option as there is something dodgy going on with agger's injury and even when fit his relationship with hodgson.

In that case, you could sell him - he might well drop to 8.8 before you buy him back, and Arteta could rise as well in the meantime.

out of vidic and alex i'd go for vidic. manu beginning to look tight at the back and vidic is always a threat. he will start every game as well.
however on the bos->alex transfer, i was thinking about making that one this week but have decided to hang fire. i think it unlikely chelsea will keep a clean one this week, and bosingwa has a strong chance to start both the next two home games, possibly grabbing a goal/couple of assists on the way. after that i will be shipping him straight out though.

so to conclude if you choose vidic make the transfer now, if you plump for alex it may well be worth holding onto bos for the next 3 gws.

I only lose .1 on VDV (after the eminent point drop) but .3 on Nani... Plus Nani has City coming up VDV wouldn't be risked if not 100% healthy...

With the mess in MD I don't see Bale resting before VDV is back...

    Currently sitting on the following

    Carson
    Konchesky, Cole, P. Jones
    Fab (C), Malouda, Bale, NZogbia
    Drogba, Carroll, Odemwingie

    Subs Krul, Nani, Stam, Williamson

Do I need to make any transfers here. I've a feeling that anything involving Nani leaving will come back to bite but I like the idea of holding back to Wednesday when a whole series of teams will be sitting on two consecutive home ties (Chelsea, Everton, Newcastle, Tottenham, Wigan)

Make sense or will someone convince me that I will regret holding onto Nani.

im going to put this out there. Villa have heskey, carew and agbonlahor injured. That leaves them only Nathan Delfonso, who although hasnt done much thus far is only 4.6m. With service from the likes of Ashley Young, Downing, Albrighton and Ireland I would expect him to get in the points. Villa re traditionally strong at home as well. Your thoughts plz???

Think I might get rid of Nani tonight, got him in at 8.2 so would take quite a big loss on him but he may not be back for the City game and even if he was, they don't concede many at home and the game after is Villa away which has 0-0 written all over it for me.

I see people are going Arteta but I'm not totally sure, might go Cahill instead.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same move. I'm sure if he misses the Man City game he'll go down to around 8.6 anyway so I wouldn't be losing much on him.

Not even considering ditching Nani. When United score, he's involved, he's only failed to bring returns in two games, and United have nice fixtures after Villa (who we have a great record against anyways).

Stuck between Arteta and Cahill as well though, I think Arteta is due a massive haul while Cahill seems to be getting consistent returns without many noticing until now.

    Or keep Nani (bench him)

And do Carroll > Yakubu instead?

Just wondering, i haven't played it since FM2008. I play the game in commentry mode rather than looking at the pitch and like getting through a season quickly enough. FM2009 took way too long, is FM2010 - FM2011 any better?

Either lost on last page or ignored (probably fair) but who do you think will score more

    1) This week Arteta away to Blackpool
    2) Midweek Young (perhaps as striker) home to Blackpool

Your team is not so bad is it? Perhaps just stop taking points hits and benching the top scoring player for the week? I reckon you can make do with no transfer this week.
      Hart
      Carr Coleman Elmo
      Dempsey Fab (c) Malouda Brunt
      Carroll Hernandez Drog

is not the end of the world then 2 x midweek could make the difference - particularly as Tottenham team announcement is pre deadline re: Van Der Vaart

bench malouda and nani and bring in dempsey and car. No points hits required. 2 transfers next week. Enrique may get zero but the amount of people that will be using 4/8 points will balance this out

Nani->Arteta,Cahill or Bale seems to be the general ideas floating about.

It depends if you planned to get rid of Malouda/Nani in the future or if you want to keep hold of them.

I don't think Malouda will get many minutes if any.

I don't have a clue what to do with my team either mate!
