The results are in from the fourth round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power, and can be viewed right here. For a round-up of how 64 became 32, read on…

In what was a low-scoring week all-round, Gazzamania narrowly came out on top with a handy 53 points. That earns him a free £25 bet courtesy of sponsors Paddy Power, and a spot in round five. Feeling the full force of that score was Ron Burgundy, who could only muster a lowly 21. That was the third-worst score of the round and, unsurprisingly, that tie had the widest margin of victory.

Just missing out on the week’s top-score by a single point was Manif, who killed off our former champion donnellyc 52 – 37, as I correctly predicted.

Also biting the dust this week is my fellow Scout, Granville. He lost 40 – 33 to Chris81, thanks largely to Charles N’Zogbia.

With no draws this week, all ties were all decided on points. The closest of which were single point victories for Dksbananas and Unwillingplayer, who were 37 – 36 and 41 – 40 victors over megatron x and Fiat_Chelsea respectively.

Mightily unlucky this round is Mighty and daniel.mf, as the former was involved in the highest scoring tie of the round, losing 51 – 43 to DollyDaisy, and the latter achieved the best score that failed to progress, in his 49 – 44 effort against olive.

Fortune instead favoured gooner dave, who had the lowest score good enough for a victory and his 29 – 22 game against Azfad was the lowest scoring tie of the round.

The wooden spoon for round four goes to xero131, who could only score a pitiful 15 points. Placidcasual was the benefactor there.

Congratulations to our final 32, and commiserations to those leaving us at this juncture.

With Gameweek 12 only a day away, there is no let-up in the schedule and our 32 Fantasy Managers will have only a few hours notice of their fifth round opponent; expect the draw this time tomorrow.

Am I mad to be considering a punt on a West Ham player? In for Cleverley who has really annoyed this season.

Cleverley isn't getting much game time so anyone who plays is surely worth it. West Ham wise there isn't much in midfield though.

        Hehe, obviously not 🙂
If its for Cleverley then Parker looks the only real option. Maybe I should look elsewhere, but I fancy them to put in a few performances now and as c-c2005 says his 2 points will be better than Cleverley's 0 when called on.

      I'd say nothing.

You can already field a decent team, and a more obvious transfer may come to light next GW at which point having a double will be beneficial. I would say Nasri to Nolan, but you already have 2 Newcastle, 3 would be overkill.

Pretty solid team. Can see most players offering decent returns this week and not sure I would fancy wither of those transfers to definitely bring in more than the other unless Nasri is out of course.

Anyone actually fancy Wigan to pull off an upset against Liverpool. They only win when its least expected and they're probably about due now especially after they did the double over them last year? Basically trying to work out whether to play Alcaraz

According to Fantasy tools Tevez is going up tonight hes on 140% (risen 98% today). However he is meant to be protected, anyone reckon he’ll go up?

He was yellow flagged all weekend? When did he lose his red flag?

Best striker to buy in for £10.4m or less just for this GW.

Tevez I'm getting in next week but this week I have free transfer up front. I know I could get him in but there must be someone out there who could get more points than him.

I'm thinking Piquonne. Good fixture at home and usually when he scores he gets 3 BP's.

Or maybe Pavlyuchenko or even Odemwingie?

    Hi guys.

I don't usually post for advice but I'm a bit stuck. Do you think it's a bad idea not to do a transfer if I already have two free ones? I'm relatively happy with my team (I've had a better start to the season than usual) and so part of me wants to keep it as it is despite a couple of injuries, but I have a nagging feeling that it's stupid not to make use of the free transfer.

What would you do with my team?

If you have free transfers to burn, then why not get rid of one of Nani/VDV for a week or so, for someone who's actually going to play. Or do you not want to lose value on them?

Other than that.... It might be worth changing Figueroa with a free transfer, because he's not going to do shit. Mind you, there aren't many options at that price other than Simpson - and you already have Williamson.

Actually that's an idea. Why not Williamson > Simpson if you can think of nothing else. Saves some money and could be useful down the line.

Very nice team though. I can understand why you don't want to change anything.

Not convinced by Hutton at all. Spurs aren't exactly raking in the clean sheets, and after the next two their fixtures aren't too great - especially the home games, which is when you'd want to play him.

Coleman looks to be a better bet than Hutton, at least IMO. And I'm not sure why you want to get rid of Boateng. City's fixtures for the next 10/12 weeks are excellent.

Elmo will have him in his pocket....

That's a point though. Makes Elmo even less appealing for this week, because he'll have to keep track of Bale all game. Bale vs Onouha on his own could be carnage, and I doubt that Bruce will want that.

Is anyone annoyed at Fabregas because although he's done shit, he'll obviously produce when he's fit.

I'm Keeping the faith! i missed out on his massive GW last year and determined not to do that again -

As many people have already stated - he has been unlucky with hitting post etc.. the points will come!

I will keep him and although the last 2 games were frustrating, when he explodes like we know he can, his % ownership will be very low compared to usual so will reap the rewards.

      Thats the plan anyway...

I am going to bring in one of Piquionne, Obinna or Cole for the next two weeks. Who would you pick out of the 3?

Piquionne, biggest goal threat IMO and will have confidence, also the cheapest of the lot.

They play in different positions, it annoys me when people post like this, Drop Berba for Piquionne yes, then upgrade to Etherington.
