The results are in from the fourth round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power, and can be viewed right here. For a round-up of how 64 became 32, read on…

In what was a low-scoring week all-round, Gazzamania narrowly came out on top with a handy 53 points. That earns him a free £25 bet courtesy of sponsors Paddy Power, and a spot in round five. Feeling the full force of that score was Ron Burgundy, who could only muster a lowly 21. That was the third-worst score of the round and, unsurprisingly, that tie had the widest margin of victory.

Just missing out on the week’s top-score by a single point was Manif, who killed off our former champion donnellyc 52 – 37, as I correctly predicted.

Also biting the dust this week is my fellow Scout, Granville. He lost 40 – 33 to Chris81, thanks largely to Charles N’Zogbia.

With no draws this week, all ties were all decided on points. The closest of which were single point victories for Dksbananas and Unwillingplayer, who were 37 – 36 and 41 – 40 victors over megatron x and Fiat_Chelsea respectively.

Mightily unlucky this round is Mighty and daniel.mf, as the former was involved in the highest scoring tie of the round, losing 51 – 43 to DollyDaisy, and the latter achieved the best score that failed to progress, in his 49 – 44 effort against olive.

Fortune instead favoured gooner dave, who had the lowest score good enough for a victory and his 29 – 22 game against Azfad was the lowest scoring tie of the round.

The wooden spoon for round four goes to xero131, who could only score a pitiful 15 points. Placidcasual was the benefactor there.

Congratulations to our final 32, and commiserations to those leaving us at this juncture.

With Gameweek 12 only a day away, there is no let-up in the schedule and our 32 Fantasy Managers will have only a few hours notice of their fifth round opponent; expect the draw this time tomorrow.

Double gameweeks aren't planned. They happen as a result of cup games or the weather delaying fixtures. These fixtures were always scheduled.

N'Zog, even with Liverpool "turning a corner", N'Zog has openly admitted time after time that he wants out of Wigan, games like this put him very firmly in the shopping window, I would fancy him to perform well.

Ha, I was wondering why you had posted a response to almost every post on the last page!

I think Foster is more likely to keep a clean sheet than Fabianski to be honest, Stoke can find it really difficult to score. That being said, it really is more of a toss a coin decision, both away, I would say Wolves are more dangerous, but Stoke have become wildly inconsistant this year.

Berbatov has lost his form, I would do a straight swap if you didn't mind not having a top 3 attacker.

That being said, I still don't trust Sunderland, and their fixtures are not the best, I would be looking to upgrade Berba to Tevez or Torres/Drogba if I were you.

Right, I’m ditching Fabregas as I’m sick of sitting and waiting for him to start yielding FPL points at 11.8m.

So, if I ditch him I can get rid of Berbs for Tevez but I do want some Arsenal coverage in midfield. Is Song a good prospect as he doesnt seem to suffer rotation and has bagged 3 goals so far?

Same things were said about Roon at the beginning of the season (he was a great palyer and 'due' goals etc); as a result lots of ppl missed DD amazing run.
If you feel that other players (VDV if fit, SG, Mal, Cahill...) can outperform Cesc in the next 5, go for it.
I would personally give him one more chance as the Guns have to go for it on Wed

I dont want to get rid of him, it pains me to even think about it, but has he just got mythical status this season and in reality, he aint gonna deliver?

          Team now is

          Foster/Hahnemann
          Elmo, Alex, Tamas, Coleman, Dann
          Fabs, Malouda, Nani, Brunt, Bale
          Drogba, Berbatov, Carroll

if I ditch Fabs, I can upgrade Berba to Tevez, maybe bring in Song for Arsenal coverage and have 4.8 in the bank to upgrade elsewhere.

          Am I been stupid?

Defence is really week. So you'll be relying on your big hitters to get you most of the points, which has hardly happened this season.

Thats what I'm leaning towards Fray.

Also, why on earth they don't let you play 3-4-3 is beyond me. The FPL game lets you play a 5-2-3 if you want for crying out loud!

Not too shabby, but not too awesome either. 1015th I think. Its just nice to not study it properly and just go 'he'll do!' on a Friday night. That'll change at the start of next season!

oh, and I think Kuty could be worth a go on your WC, I did the same thing with Rooney weeks back as a gamble, straight out the week after on a freebie, you have less to lose as you are setting up yor team to do well for a few weeks, so you probably have fewer transfers to do.

I had him 2 seasons ago, and he was a joy, last season, meh.

Saw the Blindside on a night bus in Argentina in May, what a pile of crap, although it had a Remember the Titans stench off it to begin with. Plus side was Sandra Bullock looks amazing.

Paranormal Activity is hands down one of the scariest shows I have seen in years, watched it with missus too, and we were both freaking out by the noises of the house that night

I agree on both points. Dirky does a great job and I fancy him to play up top with Torres for a while where all his selfless running can open things up for Torres.
Lucas was bloody brilliant yesterday. Just like he was Vs. Utd. last year. I've never slagged him off and feel he has got over critical media/ ex players on his back. Young and improving.

Thinking of shipping out Simon Davies. Anyone fancy a punt on a Wolves midfielder, or maybe Stoke? They both got a nice run of fixtures, and Wolves are quite in form at the moment.

    Current team:
    Hahnemann (Foster)
    A. Cole | Alex | Enrique (Elmohamady, Salcido)
Nasri | Fabregas | Ferguson | Davies (Nani)
    Drogba | Carroll | Elmander

Got two free transfers, so I am considering getting Salcido, Nani and Davies out. Worth a 4 point hit?

    Foster (Harper)
Jagielka, G. Cahill, Konchesky, Elmo (Jara)
    Fabregas, Malouda, Arteta, N'Zogbia (Nasri)
    Drogba (c), Carroll (Dembele)

I have 1.0m in the bank, so I'm considering swapping Nasri for T. Cahill tonight before he goes up and benching one of my defenders.

Then in a couple of weeks I'll have two free transfers and swap one of my Everton midfielders for Nani in time for his game at home to Wigan.

for me, utd defenders aren't worth it, especially when they're letting in so many goals.

Point taken. I was skeptical when I brought Vidic in last week, I feel Chelsea are a better option at the moment. Man U have some decent fixtures coming up though...

My plan is to sell Malouda for VDV and use the extra funds to upgrade Berba to Tevez and Konchesky to Kolarov.

I need to take out Salcido and am torn between Hutton and Knight or another 5.0 or less The rest of my defs are Konchesky, Elmo, Williamson, (Jara). GKs, Foster, Gilks.

    Any opinions gratefully received.
