The midweek action in the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power, saw 32 Fantasy Managers battle it out in the hope of reaching the last 16. You can see exactly who has achieved that feat right here, reading on for the round highlights…

As always, we start with the award for the top-scorer of the Gameweek; and this time it’s Roger‘s arm who is raised at the end of the round, and will be the recipient of a free £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power. With a score of 61, Hapless Hat-tricks (36) had no chance, on the wrong end of the biggest points margin win of the round.

Roger’s closest challenger for the prize was DollyDaisy, who powered through to the last 16 with a 56 – 32 victory over rrmc.

The lowest scorer of the round was placidcasual, who could only muster 29 points, much to the relief of RJBroughton with his 37.

Outside the top two scorers and the lowest scorer, the other 29 fantasy managers were all within the range of 32 – 48 points, which resulting many close ties.

None more so than billbadger‘s match with Ann_der_roo. Both managers scored 35 points, and it was Ann_der_roo’s hugely impressive overall rank that puts an end to billbadger’s cup run. That was the lowest score good enough to go through.

Elsewhere, last week’s top-scorer, Gazzamania, has his cup run ended after a single point defeat to DRP (42 – 41).

Probably still smarting from his round one win over Mark, tippman looks to be going all the way. He came out on top 41 – 37 in his fifth round fixture with Unwillingplayer.

Manif once again upset the odds to reach the next round, beating atx1303 45 – 38, and putting himself a dizzying 319,956th in the world.

The fixtures for the last 16 will be published later today, but for now, congratulations to those awaiting news of their sixth round opponent, and commiserations to those whose interest in the tournament has dwindled considerably since Wednesday.

Guys I've got a really tricky decision to make. My current midfield is:

    Fabs Malouda Arteta Zog Barton

and I have 2 free transfers, of which I want to save 1.

Long term I can't see Malouda staying, I'll need Nani back next week and VdV is kinda impossible to ignore (despite some tough fixtures). Do I swap Malouda for VdV, Arteta for VdV or do possibly the most brave thing (which I should have done the last two weeks) and do nothing, burn one of my transfers?

VDV's a risk considering his difficult fixtures.

I've considered getting VDV in and although most of their play will be going through him, Tottenham's imminent fixtures are awful and their form's pretty crap too (2 draws and 2 losses in the last 4 games).

Next GW I could possibly do Nani and Torres in and Drogba and Arteta in. Now even confused, why to spend transfer on a player that won't be played till the next W Card??? I could find another defender next GW. Not that I need one. I am happy with my defense.

        Still not decided.

Oh for f*cks sake! (Sorry I'm late to the party, Black Ops takes priority obviously!)

Picking Alex at the start of the season was without question the logical choice. His score would be virtually they same as Ashley Cole's if he did keep picking up these silly little niggles. But by virtually of the fact that he's missed so many games, he's been a complete waste of time - aside from the thunderbolt against the Arse.

It's definitely time to get rid through. Fixtures aren't great over the next 8 or so weeks, and if I don't get rid it will be another dire week from my defence.

In comes Kolarov! I accept that he may not start, but I've had it up to here with this game so far, and I want some 'flair' players in my team.

Going without any Chelsea coverage is risky business, given how we are one of about two teams who are consistently keeping clean sheets - Man Shitty being t'other.

We are at home, so we win to nil! That's just what happens at the Bridge...

It will probably be another low scoring affair though.. Our midfield isn't really up too much without Essien and Lampard in there. Ramires is taking time to adapt, and Zhirkov is naturally a winger/wing-back so struggle to influence the game in the middle.

          2-0 Chelsea.

If we line up without Alex, Essien, Lampard and Drogba then we are asking for serious trouble.... Drogba simply has to play, it would be a huge call not to play him from Carlo, and given how terrible we were in the first half against Liverpool I can't see him even thinking about it.

Didn't Boateng limp off at the end of the game with Utd? Not entirely sure who is more likely to start though... Birmingham at home seems an ideal time to ease Kolarov back into things.

They'll both be first choice in the long run though.

Think I'm gonna take a risk with getting in Kolarov for Alex too. We've been unlucky with Alex, if he'd only been fully fit for the season, we'd have a load of extra cleanie points. Really hope he starts. He'll be a 1st teamer once he's fully fit surely?

Most definitely. Everyone who has played at left back for City this season so far has struggled, plus Kolarov is quality player.

Mancini said a while back that bombarding wing backs will be integral to his plans... Mind you, from what we've seen so far from Boateng (i.e. nothing in an attacking sense) he was probably bullshitting to appease the Citeh fans who are fed up with his Martin O'Neill style anti-football.

When will that be though?? It seems he is injury prone, or picks up niggles often. I agree though he is first choice when fit, so maybe later in the season Ill buy him back.

Possible set pieces, rocket of a shot on him, gets forward more than Boateng - just look at the 11 minutes he played vs Utd, he probably went into the Utd box more than any other City player all game.

And, most importantly, he's more jokes than Boateng.

Already lost .1m on him and will make a judgement on whether he's will drop again before next gameweek.

I'm looking at Zhirkov for the next 3, and Kolarov, though why I'm looking at differentials when I'm top of my mini league, I don't know. Habit I guess.

Chelsea 2-1 Sunderland. Yes please... Jordan Henderson can hopefully f*ck up all of those Cashley clean sheets! It's about time we conceded at the Bridge... And Gyan's mobility could cause Ivanovic and Terry problems.

Plus, I hate Mikel Ramires and Jerkoff as the middle three. Totally ineffective.

In light of the uncertainty over Drogba, is it worth a switch to Torres this week for free? Already have Malouda and Cashley..

Who are people opting for out of Malouda, Drogs, Tevez and VDV?

Personally i'm leaning towards Malouda, although Tevez is very tempting!

    Appreciate any opinions.

Definately, Defoe isn't even playing tomorrow. I wouldn't even take VDV out if Defoe was.

Start Coleman at home to Arsenal (i think he'll play) or Knight away to Wolves?
and Captain Drogs, Malouda or Tevez...thinking Drogs despite illness worries...

I already made my free transfer yesterday but anyone think it's worth a 4 point hit to get Alex OUT for someone or just play Coleman and hope he gets time?

Defense right now is: Coleman, Konch, Simpson (Alex, Jara)

Doubling up on Liverpool defence with konchesky and skrtel for the next 2 weeks.I think if they beat stoke well it could get a bit of momentum going for the game against west ham. Anyone else thinking about it?
