The midweek action in the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power, saw 32 Fantasy Managers battle it out in the hope of reaching the last 16. You can see exactly who has achieved that feat right here, reading on for the round highlights…

As always, we start with the award for the top-scorer of the Gameweek; and this time it’s Roger‘s arm who is raised at the end of the round, and will be the recipient of a free £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power. With a score of 61, Hapless Hat-tricks (36) had no chance, on the wrong end of the biggest points margin win of the round.

Roger’s closest challenger for the prize was DollyDaisy, who powered through to the last 16 with a 56 – 32 victory over rrmc.

The lowest scorer of the round was placidcasual, who could only muster 29 points, much to the relief of RJBroughton with his 37.

Outside the top two scorers and the lowest scorer, the other 29 fantasy managers were all within the range of 32 – 48 points, which resulting many close ties.

None more so than billbadger‘s match with Ann_der_roo. Both managers scored 35 points, and it was Ann_der_roo’s hugely impressive overall rank that puts an end to billbadger’s cup run. That was the lowest score good enough to go through.

Elsewhere, last week’s top-scorer, Gazzamania, has his cup run ended after a single point defeat to DRP (42 – 41).

Probably still smarting from his round one win over Mark, tippman looks to be going all the way. He came out on top 41 – 37 in his fifth round fixture with Unwillingplayer.

Manif once again upset the odds to reach the next round, beating atx1303 45 – 38, and putting himself a dizzying 319,956th in the world.

The fixtures for the last 16 will be published later today, but for now, congratulations to those awaiting news of their sixth round opponent, and commiserations to those whose interest in the tournament has dwindled considerably since Wednesday.

I am benching Jags, I don't see them keeping a clean sheet. That being said, Newcastle cannot be trusted so I would bench Simpson, as Jags might at the very least get BP's

Not forgetting, of course, that Adam will be on penalties as well. But you're right, Nolan looks the better bet.

Not a bad back three at all for this week.

Save your transfer and double up next week.

How far ahead do people generally look with their transfers?

I'm thinking about upgrading my defence this week. Possibly PJones > J.Boateng.

But i don't want to tie up much cash since i will look at getting RVP into my team in a coupel fo weeks - that would mean downgrading Arteta too, so he's got a couple of weeks to repay the faith!

          God I hate Talksport.

The formulaic "Presenter X takes one side of the argument, Presenter Y argues the other side, what do you think, phone in now morons" drives me mad.

Used to like Darren Gough as well, but he properly buys into this style of presenting.

i'm not worried about alex at all.. a CB pairin has to be long term cause they got to work together and ancelotti clearly favors alex and terry.. infact i'd go as far as sayin alex is the same to chelsea as lampard a.cole terry drogba etc are.. and is a nailed on first 11 starter unless injured. ancelotti'd be mad to rotate centre backs.. ivan and bos are in trouble.. now i await the egg on my face in half n hour

TV shows: What else is on Freeview that's good?

    At the moment I'm recording:

    Spooks
    Due South
    Quantum Leap
    Dark Blue
    K-Ville
    Human Target
CSI (all of them, there's bloody loads)
    Life

    Maybe some others I forgot.
What else is good? Freeview only, I know there's a few good things on FX but I can never be bothered to watch TV when it's actually on.

    weird
sporting life lists all spurs' injured players & then says
Tottenham (from): Gomes, Cudicini, Hutton, Corluka, Bale, Gallas, Bassong, Kaboul, Jenas, Sandro, Assou-Ekotto, Huddlestone, Palacios, Kranjcar, Bentley, Modric, Crouch, Pavlyuchenko, Pletikosa.

so no vdv. he's not in their list of injured players/ doubts

No idea to be honest. Nani going up leaves me 0.1m short for doing Arteta-->nani. Damn.

Never the intention to bring nani this week anyway though. Trying to figure my h2h opponent out, but it's tough. Very similar teams with both of us having 2 free trades.

I've decided to go for a Man.City-defender this GW. Who should I get? Can't afford Touré. Physioroom indicates that Boateng is injured, is he? In that case the argument for Kolarov gets stronger, but need him to start!
