The midweek action in the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power, saw 32 Fantasy Managers battle it out in the hope of reaching the last 16. You can see exactly who has achieved that feat right here, reading on for the round highlights…

As always, we start with the award for the top-scorer of the Gameweek; and this time it’s Roger‘s arm who is raised at the end of the round, and will be the recipient of a free £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power. With a score of 61, Hapless Hat-tricks (36) had no chance, on the wrong end of the biggest points margin win of the round.

Roger’s closest challenger for the prize was DollyDaisy, who powered through to the last 16 with a 56 – 32 victory over rrmc.

The lowest scorer of the round was placidcasual, who could only muster 29 points, much to the relief of RJBroughton with his 37.

Outside the top two scorers and the lowest scorer, the other 29 fantasy managers were all within the range of 32 – 48 points, which resulting many close ties.

None more so than billbadger‘s match with Ann_der_roo. Both managers scored 35 points, and it was Ann_der_roo’s hugely impressive overall rank that puts an end to billbadger’s cup run. That was the lowest score good enough to go through.

Elsewhere, last week’s top-scorer, Gazzamania, has his cup run ended after a single point defeat to DRP (42 – 41).

Probably still smarting from his round one win over Mark, tippman looks to be going all the way. He came out on top 41 – 37 in his fifth round fixture with Unwillingplayer.

Manif once again upset the odds to reach the next round, beating atx1303 45 – 38, and putting himself a dizzying 319,956th in the world.

The fixtures for the last 16 will be published later today, but for now, congratulations to those awaiting news of their sixth round opponent, and commiserations to those whose interest in the tournament has dwindled considerably since Wednesday.

    Quick question regarding transfers.

I have 2 free transfers going into this gameweek.
If I don't use any this week, do they roll over i.e
3 free transfers next gameweek ??

I've got salcido injured, barton banned,

my dilemma lies in defence/midfield , I have elmo, konchesky, simpson, cole, salcido / VDV fabregas ferguson barton cahill

.4 in the bank...1 free transfer - cant think of a defender to replace salcido, while I also wanna buy nani back (for cahill)..he's already gone up .1 since last night, but I was wanting to transfer him out after this GW(I prefer cahill at home to arsenal than nani away to villa), but I'd like some extra input...
Should I take a 4 point hit for salcido -> someone, Cahill -> Nani?

Barton is banned for 3-weeks so his price will surely drop, so I have to get rid of him but who should I go at his budget? who is the best replacement for him with good fixtures at hand?

And should I sell Ridgewell this week and sell Barton next week or will Barton price drop so soon?

Do you have to get rid of him? I might keep him unless no other transfer to make; I'm playing 3 upfront anyway and like my other 4 mids (Fabs, Mal, Nani, Adam) to play every week so no big rush for me.
At this price tag, he is really a nice benchwarmer (I even regret he was on the bench on a few occasions) + he's back for the WBA game!

When you keep the player, price is not that important... besides, he cannot go that much lower IMO and some will get him back later considering his price/pts ratio

    Hi guys,

I want to get rid of Coleman and Arteta within the next couple of weeks

For this week, I would like to do either Coleman -> G CAHILL or Arteta -> VDV.

Which one should I do first? The rationale choice should be coleman because he is not a sure starter and because VDV is not 100% fit but the guts are telling that VDV could be big at home v Blackburn...

Wolves without Doyle and some other key guys could be a good away win don't you think? But I agree it is dull to buy defenders..

Not sure about that personally, Wolves are long overdue a win. They've been playign really well lately but had hard fixtures. I expect them to start turning it around.

How about getting in the duo of Brunt and Doyle. That way, Doyle covers the Wolves attacking angle without having to worry about getting the Hunt/Jarvis/Milijas choice wrong, and then, by rotating them you get the following fixtures:

    GW13: BOL (Doyle)
    GW14: STK (Brunt)
    GW15: SUN (Doyle)
    GW16: NEW (Brunt)
    GW17: BIR (Doyle)
    GW18: WOL (Brunt)
    GW19: WIG (Doyle)
    GW20: BLA (Brunt)

and then this will take you onto the cusp of January wildcard time so that you can boot these two once their fixtures go south.

    Thoughts?

With Lampard's imminent return surely malouda and drogba will be must-haves again? When he plays everyone plays better; malouda will be in a more attacking role.

Look at the first 3 GWs of the season (granted they were against easy opposition) but Lampard will most definitely give them a boost.

I agree with this. It's not the case that Drog and Malouda haven't been doing well lately, it's that Chelsea haven't been doing well lately. The former is a consequence of the latter and Lampard back should help Chelsea.

Okay you can look at the first 3 games of this season, or you can look at the second half of last season then ask yourself – can you afford to be without lampard? His performances at the start of the season was probably at least partly due to his injury. If he is now fully recovered his fpl points could be just like last season again…

So you're saying get Lampard himself and one out of Malouda and Drogba? Wasn't his low points due to playing deeper with Malouda playing the more attacking role?

Depends on how Chelsea are set up – carlo may elect to change things round

certainly malouda could benefit if a similar system is played as at the start of the season, but I think lampard could very well shine again – perhaps not immediately but over time

Worth me getting Simpson in this week for a 4 point hit?

Thinking about Drogba to Rooney next week, so would be a hit then anyway.
