Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam had to limp from the pitch with a knee problem during the second half of Scotland’s 3-0 victory over the Faroe Islands on Tuesday. The slight knock means Blackpool face an anxious wait to see if their captain is fit to face Wolves at Bloomfield Road on Saturday. Adam was on form in the game though, playing provider for two of his nation’s goals…

The player told Sky Sports News that he was remaining optimistic…

“I am a wee bit sore and stiff in the knee, but I should be okay and hopefully be alright for Saturday.”

Adam is owned by 19.6% of teams in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, so the potential injury will come as a big concern to many Managers who have become used to the cut-price favourite notching-up the points. Adam is the fifth highest scoring midfielder on the FPL game with a total of 63 points and priced at just £5.7million he is seen as a steal. He has also been awarded more Bonus Points than any other player so far this season, racking up sixteen in his debut season in the top flight.

Reports meanwhile from the local rag in Blackpool suggest that scans on the knee injury Matt Gilks sustained at West Ham on the weekend will see him sidelined for at least two months. Fortunately Blackpool have Ghanain international goalkeeper Richard Kingson in reserve to fill his boots but, nonetheless, this will be a marked loss to the Tangerines and leave them short for cover in the meantime.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

Never had Adam, he's been a thorn in my side all season. Hopefully he misses out this weekend 😀

Well if Blackpool are going to be even shoddier at the back, Adam will have to play with crutches if needs be!

My personal favourite of Barthez was when he tried to slide tackle when there was virtually no need and completely missed the ball and the player- woeful!

Seriously TK, when have you ever seen Akinfeev play? And do you even know who he plays for?

And please don't say you watched him in the Russia vs Ireland game last month, because he was hopeless in that match.

He very well may be one of the world's best keepers, but you can't really say that yourself.

Seriously TK. buffon is 33 so he wud have another 7 years. They got Vds when he was 35 and look at what happened. i believe goalkeepers are the exception and dont necessarily need to be in their twenties.

I'm not disputing the fact that Akinfeev is a good keeper, although I'm in no position to say exactly how good he is. All I'm saying that you can't say that you want Utd to sign him on the basis of watching him have a couple of good games.

              Matt Gilks is shit.

Why Cudicini? Sure he do with being a couple of inches taller, but he is by no means a bad keeper. One of Chelsea's best ever signings..

He's three years younger than that blunder merchant you have between the sticks.

He was also playing, and starred, in a certain victory against Inter Milan a couple of weeks ago.

To say he is the 5th worst keeper in the Premiership is an absolute joke. As is saying Fabianski is the 4th worst, and that Carson is the worst. And that Foster is 6th for that matter as well! Terrible list.

Lol something tells me you don't agree. But tis just an opinion, couldnt care less who agrees or not.
I used to be a big fan of Cudicini but I actually can't remember the last time he played well.
Carson is a complete clown, i've always maintained that.
Foster is pants as any United fan will tell you and it's no surprise to see Brum leaking goals this season when their defense and way of playing remains unchanged.
Fabianski hasn't been quite at the awful level we'd normally expect from him, ill give you that.
                    VDS a blunder merchant?!

Any keeper who plays for birmingham seems to be looked at as a top keeper, due to the fact the keeper is worked more. at higher level for example keepers arent worked as much and require more concentration hence dats why foster was cack for utd.

There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding protection status on TotalFPL

Protection DOES NOT mean the guy is still protected, merely that at some point he was protected, and therefore the % rise may be overstated due to some of the transfers in happening while he was protected.

I responded to you on the last page.

The reason that there is confusion however is that we don't know whether protection has ended or is still in being in respect of some players, hence not knowing whether a player is 78% to a rise or 28% to a rise.

It appears to me that FPL have changed their system of late, and the "protection" periods are now shorter than they were. That being said, as I pointed out on previous thread, if people are tight on funds and want a player for a prolonged period, then I think the move is worth it early

best buy of the season for me outside of VDV, so satisfying to spend that money on a player and he rewards you with goals and BP's, just hope he can do it at home now and he will be the next Carroll!

nice score and team value Granville, Davies is a good choice, but it is hard to ignore Elmander at the moment, who has yet to score at home, which you would of thought is easier than scoring away

Yep I am. Equally tempted. Takes penalties, gets bps, assists, great disciplinary record 😉

Although also interested in Elmander, and not scoring at home means nothing really.

Worth noting he is not in the squad for the game. Looks like he is being rested.

Like the look of this wc team

    Jask Gordon
    Vidic ACole Onouha Coleman Kolarov
    Nani NZog Dempsey Vandevart Adam
    Elmander Carroll Tevez

Would have to get over ditching Fabs and Drogs. Could keep Fabs with weaker forward and defender.

    Thoughts?

      ditch onuoha and maybe coleman

with cole vidic and kolarov u just want 2 cheapies, id be looking at simpson and bardsley, one of them will always be at home if u dont want to play the big 3

      keep fabs

onouha is too expensive, bardsley or bramble is a better bet. u have gordon already, so i think simpson is a better bet

get a very cheap midfielder rather than dempsey (so u can bench him), and maybe try squeeze fabregas in

Bit short on obvious captains (cos they've been working out great this season 😉 ) but really strong overall. I'd be trying to get Fabs in myself, less worried about Drog. Could you downgrade ACole to Konch (who rotates perfectly home and away with Coleman)?

If you don't have Nani, Malouda OUT Nani IN would be a sweet move.

I wouldn't be so quick to ditch Chelsea players, no point knee jerking and shipping 3 in one weekend anyway. Of that lot, Malouda would actually be the last one of those I would get rid of. Zhirkov does not show the promise he did a week ago with the injuries to Alex and Terry now. Chelsea will bounce back, hold on to either Malouda or Drogba if I were you and ship the other 2.

I think people are afraid to get rid of Chelsea players because of how well they did at the start. The way I see it, they have a lot of injuries and dirt fixtures.

Only Chelsea player I'd recommend having is Didier, but even at that, I think I'm getting rid.

      Maybe Jeff Bruma 😉

What would Jack Bauer do? Yes, he would of picked Zhirkov, called the player before the game and told him he would put clothes pegs on his nipples and balls, while repeatedly tickling his feet with one hand and smacking him in the nose with the other, should he not play well and get him 24 points as (C), the threat of that much pleasure/pain is enough to drive on any man, and it is, at the end of the day, JB, the hardest, gruffest b*stard in the world.

Last weekend it appeared to be a genius move to be fair, Lampard out for another 3 weeks, playing in midfield (albeit badly) and had a bit of form from Champions League etc exploits. Just goes to show how things can change in fantasy terms very quickly.

Then Bos out the next week?

Bit annoying that now Bos is gonna be getting games, it'll be without Alex and Terry, so his cleansheet potential is more or less inexistant.

Yeah, fixtures + Alex/Terry out coupled with Mancini's defensive style + Kolarov on free kicks/corners.
            Seems a good move.

Considering holding off on O'Shea to Samba this week in hope that O'Shea actually plays.

    Fabregas Nani VDV Nolan Adam
    Drogba Tevez Carroll

Am planning to get rid of A.cole cos he s too costly and morever getting him out can help me get the following defence.

    A.Cole-->Bosingwa
    Mummy--->Kolarov
    Coleman---> Ferdinand

    Any suggestions?

If I were to take a punt on Rooney this week who would you do it for... Tevez or Drogba?

Bearing in mind that I am ditching Malouda for Nani this week, so Drogs will be only Chelsea coverage.

A doctor may choose to dispense the medicines in the form of pills or even through an IV line. Unfortunately, it can take a person weeks or even months in recovering from malaria completely.
