After their thrashing in the Tyne-Wear derby at the tail end of October, Sunderland stunned Chelsea and probably themselves with a fantastic 3-0 victory at Stamford Bridge last Sunday. Perhaps this signals the start of a rejuvenated drive in the coming weeks for Steve Bruce’s men and a great time for Fantasy Football managers to draft in some of his revitalised stars? If so, who could be better to shore-up your defence than the Black Cats’ ever-dependable Mr Bramble?

The madcaps out there might be tempted to take a risk and bring in a more offensive option, but Sunderland have not been the most prolific goal-scorers so far this season, racking up just 15 all term. Having only conceded 13 goals, the fourth least in the Premier League, and staunchly keeping five clean sheets in the process, opting for a defender might be a safer bet.

The man whose captain recently backed him for an England call-up and declared him “the signing of the summer” is probably a wiser option when compared with some of his teammates. Ahmed Elmohamady, for example, has an ownership of 20.1% in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game and isn’t even a guaranteed starter, having only come on for the last few minutes against Chelsea at the weekend. In comparison, Bramble is owned by just 5.9% of FPL teams and has been ever-present apart from a one-game suspension which saw him skip the home game with Stoke City.

Once poetically labelled a “Shambles”, in recent years Titus has proved to be anything but. In the company of other bargain basement defenders, with a current FPL value of £4.7million, Bramble stands out from the crowd with an impressive 40 FPL points, claiming 6 bonus points along the way too. An increase in Sunderland’s momentum and a manageable run of fixtures (EVE, wol, WHM, ful, BOL, mun), now could prove to be the perfect time to invest in the in-form centre-back.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

It's not for certain he will play, neither Jarvis.

For me the question is who to bench of Carroll, Tevez, Drogba, Jarvis and Adam...

You don't need Nolan with the midfield you have as you have to drop him or N'Zogbia. Thats a lot of money on your bench each week, especially as i assume you'll play all 3 strikers every week?

You can downgrade him to Barton or Albrighton and get Cashley in. If you must have Stoke defender get Huth instead of Shawx.

Robinson or Jussi is a better keeper choice in my opinion too.

Personally I'd look at downgrading one of Tevez or Drogba (in my case it'd be Drogs) and Nolan and get someone like Davies or Elmander. Then I'd get me a Man City defender to pair up with Cashley as the defence at the moment will not bail you out if your mids and strikers have a bad weekend.

Leave Ivanovic in. He's the most certain starter of Chelsea's defence bar Cole, can score goals and can play in two positions.

I think Ivanovic is almost certain to play every game. One of either Alex or Terry will be out for the next couple of months and even with both of them back CA loves him and will play him most games at RB. No chance of him being dropped before the Jan wildcard i would say

A guy is browsing in a pet shop, and sees a parrot sitting on a little perch.

It doesn't have any feet or legs.

The guy says aloud, I wonder what happened to this parrot?'

The parrot says, 'I was born this way. I'm a defective parrot.'

'Holy crap,' the guy replies. 'You actually understood and answered me!'

'I got every word,' says the parrot. 'I happen to be a highly intelligent, and a thoroughly educated bird.'

'Oh yeah?' the guy asks. 'Then answer this, how do you hang onto your perch, without any feet.?'

'Well,' the parrot says, 'this is very embarrassing, but since you asked, I wrap my weenie around this wooden bar, like a little hook. You can't see it, because of my feathers.'

'Wow,' says the guy. 'You really can understand, and can speak English, can't you?'

'Actually, I speak both Spanish and English, and I can converse with reasonable competence on almost any topic,

The guy looks at the $200.00 price tag. 'Sorry, but I just can't afford that.'

'Pssssssst,' says the parrot, 'I'm defective, You can probably get me for $20, just make the guy an offer!'

The guy offers $20, and walks out with the parrot.

    Weeks go by.

    The parrot is sensational.

He has a great sense of humor. He's interesting. He's a great pal. He understands everything. He sympathizes and he's insightful.

    The guy is delighted.

One day the guy comes home from work, and the parrot goes, 'Psssssssssssst,' and motions him over with one wing.

'I don't know if I should tell you this or not, but it's about your wife, and the UPS man.'

'What are you talking about?' asks the guy.

'When the UPS man delivered a package today, your wife greeted him at the door wearing her sheer black nightie.'

'WHAT???' the guy asks incredulously. 'THEN what happened?'

'Well, then the UPS man came into the house, and lifted up her nightie, and began petting her all over,' reported the parrot.

'NO!' he exclaims, 'and she let him?'

'Yes. Then he continued taking off the nightie, got down on his knees, and began to kiss her all over.'

Then the frantic guy demands, 'THEN WHAT HAPPENED?'

DUNNO?!? I got an erection, and fell off my perch.!

two home games. Rooney just coming back. I think Berba will play. I know you're trying to get Rooney long term...seems like you'll benfit with Berba if Rooney comes back early anyway! might be a good hedge!

any idea on my malouda dilema...think you told me to keep him...still agree given he'll be playing deep vs. Brum?

i cant decide either Nani Wigan surely has gotta equal points, but there has also gotta be a few goals flying about in the derby. No one in my mini league has fabs so probably will go with him based on that.

Im not sure of that logic.

If most have Nani, they will captain him. So captain him to cancel them out. Then whatever Fabregas gets is bonus... That's how I see it (and what I'll be doing). Nani could easily score a shed-load and fabregas get little, and if that happens and you've skippered Nani, you lose massive ground on rivals.

        I'm pretty set on Fabs.

Usually goals in the fixture, no Huddlestone, Spurs not great at the back.

Nani is a slight rotation risk, played mid week etc etc.

    CHAV NATIVITY

There's this bird called Mary, yeah?
    She's a virgin (wossat then?)
She's not married or nuffink, but she's got this boyfriend, joe, innit?
    He does joinery an' that.
Mary lives with him in a crib dahn Nazaref.
One day Mary meets this bloke Gabriel.
She's like ' Oo ya lookin at?'
Gabriel just goes 'You got one up the duff, you have.'
    Mary's totally gobsmacked.
She gives it to him large 'stop dissin' me yeah? I ain't no Kappa-slapper. I never bin wiv no one!'
So Mary goes and sees her cousin Liz, who's six months gone herself.
    Liz is largin' it.
She's filled with spirits, Barcardi Breezers an'that.
She's like 'Orright, Mary, I can feel me bay-beein me tummy and I reckon I'm well blessed.
Think of all the extra benifits an' that we're gonna get.'
Mary goes 'Yeah, s'pose you're right'
Mary an' Joe aint got no money so they have to ponse a donkey, an' go dahn Bethlehen on that.
They get to this pub an' Mary wants to stop yeah? To have her bay-bee an' that.
But there ain't no room at the inn, innit?
So Mary an' Joe break an' enter into this garridge, only it's filled wiv animals. Cahs an' sheep an' that.
Then these three geezers turn up, lookin proper bling, wiv crowns on their heads.
They're like 'Respect, bay-bee Jesus', an say they're wise men from the East End.
Joe goes: 'If you're so wise, wotchoo doin' wiv this Frankestein an' Myrrh? Why dincha just bring gold, adidas and burberry?'
Its allabout tokick off when Gabriel turns up again an' sez he's gotanothermessage from this Lord geezer.
He's like 'The police is comin an' they're killin all the bay-bees. You better nash off to Egypt.'
Joe goes 'You must be monged if you think I'm goin' dahn Eygpt on a minging donkey'
    Gabriel sez 'Suit yerself, pal.
But it's your look out if you stay.'
So they do dahn Egypt till they've stopped killin the first-born an' its safe an' that.
Then Joe and Mary and Jesus go back to Nazaref, an' Jesus turns water into Stella and av a proper party!

    Appy Crimbo!
