Boltonโ€™s rise to the Champions League places was once again orchestrated by the performance of a strike pairing who are becoming the most feared double act in the Premier League. I can barely believe those words as they are typed.

Johan Elmander and Kevin Davies justified the oxygen weโ€™ve been feeding them on these pages but sharing four goals in the 5-1 dismantling of Newcastle at the Reebok today. Throw in one assist each for the pair and youโ€™re left with points totals that see them both take up places amongst the top four Forwards in the Fantasy Premier League game. Elmander, incredibly, is now at the top of those rankings and if Bonus Points fall kindly, he could rank as the top scoring player in the entire game. Astonishing.

Currently owned by just under 14% of FPL Managers, the Swede enjoyed a price rise this week. Get used to it โ€“ Elmanderโ€™s value will surely soar with Bolton facing the porous Blackpool defence in a weekโ€™s time. At just 6.1 in the FPL, the lure will surely prove too much and already thereโ€™s talk of the armband for Gameweek 15. Rewind 12 months and such an accolade for Elmander was simply unthinkable โ€“ he was lucky to experience the warmth of a crowded bench, let alone that of the Reebok faithful.

Poor Kevin Davies is having the season of his life but even his substantial contribution looks likely to be overshadowed; Elmanderโ€™s seemingly relentless rise to prominence is looking just too irresistible. Owen Coyleโ€™s prize asset will be a hot property in January โ€“ even hotter in the Summer. Right now itโ€™s Fantasy Managers who will be shopping at the Reebok and theyโ€™re likely to come in droves.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

7k after the first week doesn't mean much though, any mug can fluke it and be up that high early on.

Being in the top 20k after 14 weeks is more meaningful, so you're right that this is the highest that I've genuinely been.

You could've done a whole lot better than yakubu.
Have you not seen all the hype around here for certain Bolton forwards and Carroll? It's for a good damn reason since it looks like lasting.

Biggest disappointment of the day for me was that Gareth Bale worn lurid pink Kinesio. Previously, the black had matched his Spurs shorts perfectly and gave an almost perfect monochrome effect. I can only assume that 'Arry had a word with him before kick-off and decided to counter balance the lurid glare of Lukasz Fabianski's choice of kit. Both players are hereby yellow carded for on-field fashionista disasters.

Kinesio. Thanks johnny. I was trying to find out what the hell that stuff was called.

I thought Bale got his pink tape from Ann Summers or something

Although ive taken Drogs out ive done so for the need of funds. If i could i would have left him for at least one more gw. so no if you can leave drogs in but yes if you can fit vidic in another way?

He played well when he first started in the 08/09 season, but then under Megson his minutes fell considerably as he gradually dropped out of favour. Not sure why he fell out of favour, as didn't Megson bring him to the club?

Under Coyle, he's given him the minutes and the belief to play well.

        Tevez
        Torres
        Drogba
        RVP
        Berba

Evra is the Sagna of this week. He has scored three top flight goals in his entire career (2 for United, one in France) with a minimum of 3.5 years between each one.

    Don't chase those goalscoring points!

Can I just chip in and say how furious I am with football manager 11. I think it's a good game but it's bloody bugged how good some of the top teams become. They have far more cash than in real football and the reputation to sign whoever they want.

In my WBA campgain Man United have shopped Asenjo, Maicon, Hamsik, Modric, Douglas Costa, Chamakh and every good talent there is. They lose about 1 or 2 games every season. I'll never be able to catch them.

    Come on!
