The Daily Mail are reporting this morning that Chelseaโ€™s Florent Malouda could face a potential three-match ban, with the referee in Saturday’s clash with Everton set to review a fracas with Phil Neville.

Malouda appeared to slap the Everton skipper around the face after Neville had challenged the Frenchman from behind. Referee Lee Probert awarded a free-kick in favour of Chelsea but, according the report, the FA have requested him to examine the incident.

Although dismissed by Neville at the time, Everton boss David Moyes was apparently incensed and past comment on the events in his post-match interviewโ€ฆ

“Phil could quite easily have stayed down and held his face but he didnโ€™t.”

The Mail also suggest that Probert will be taking another look at Branislav Ivanovicโ€™s โ€œtackleโ€ on Seamus Coleman โ€“ Ivanovic is already one booking away from a one-match suspension. He, like Malouda, could face a violent conduct charge which would carry a three-match ban; the Mail concludes however, that it’s Malouda who is at most risk.

Chelsea face Tottenham, United and Arsenal in the next three league matches โ€“ any ban for Malouda, who has arguably been their best performer this season โ€“ would come as a huge blow for Carlo Ancelottiโ€™s men.

This is all unconfirmed of course, but should Malouda face a ban then it would surely prove to be the final straw for his remaining owners, which still adds up to over 37% of FPL Managers. Malouda has suffered from Chelseaโ€™s recent slump and his Fantasy returns have badly faltered having started the season with a devastating burst of 6 goals in the opening 5 league games. The midfielder has gone 7 starts without a goal, with just a single assist and 2 Bonus Points to his name in that spell.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Agreed. good on Phil Neville for behaving the way that those who play professional sports should. He wasn't hurt, so why make a meal of it? The sooner they bring in retrospective bans for the divers and play actors the sooner it will stop and the easier the game will be to referee.

Why not play Elmander home to Blackburn?, especially with Davies out.
tough call on Cole... might be a high scoring match, simpson home to liverpool instead?
      Malouda might be suspended..

Nope - Some are thinking that his 5th yellow on Saturday means a ban - but he's already served it due to bookings in the Carling Cup.

Premier League and both the Carling and FA Cup all bundled together. He received his 5th yellow in the Premier League game vs Villa, so he automatically missed the next match - which was the CC game with Burnley. He'll miss his next game if/when he accumulates 10 yellows - 4 to go as his 6th booking was vs Man City.

I'd bench Malouda. He's playing deeper and just not producing. Why have Elmander in your team if you aren't going to play him with a favorable home matchup? especially given his form this year, and Davies suspended, more things will go through him.

It was a definite red in my view, the minute you raise your hand and strike any player on or near the face, gonzo. That being said, I agree that if the ref saw it, and left it go, I thought the FA can't review it

Need to sell Malouda to fund this and also referencing above. Want to bring in Vidic as well but not sure when to do this (thinking GW19 after Chelsea?) so was looking to bring in a midfielder 6.0 or less.

Who would be the best option?

    Etherington?
    N'Zogbia
    Brunt

    Dunn
    Parker?

I held on to VDV this last weekend, this 10 day return thing is kindof funny news, he "might" be back for the Blackpool match, which is away, and which may be at risk already (we can assume all of Blackpools matches for the time being are at least a slight doubt), so, it all depends on how much or how quickly his price is dropping for me, if he is dropping like a stone I may have to ship, especially where is missing 1 game, a major doubt for another, and then away to Villa the following week.

Had accepted that he would stay in my team, not so sure now, despite this "10 day return" thing

Anyone want to help me with my team? It was all going so well a few weeks ago, then...

    Hart Mignolet

    Sagna Alex Kolarov(sus) Givet Williamson(sus)

Nani Malouda Cahill Adam Van der Vaart(inj)

    Elmander Carroll Bent

    1.5 mil in the bank.

I'm top of my league by about 8-10 points so don't really want to take a 4 point hit. I was thinking Kyriagos/Konchesky in for Alex? Then, depending on this Malouda thing, Brunt in for Malouda or VDV. Or maybe Cahill, depending on whether he goes to the Aussie thing early.

I've confused myself already. Can anyone help?

It goes without saying that obviously you want the best team out there rather than on that costs the earth it just so happens that their quality/price as usually directly proportional.

With that in mind, there's no lower threshold of in my mind of what I'm prepared to put out so long as I think I'll be scoring points. This week I had 3.3m in the bank, pretty sure that's my lowest ever.

The way you need to look at is is from an England point of view:

England would always have a better bid than almost all nations. Does that mean that whenever England bid the other nations that have never hosted it CAN'T get it? That would suck for them. They went with a new nation and that's ok. England's bid was better but what can you do....

Morning guys, please could you offer some transfer suggestions:

    Foster Krul
    Vidic Kolarov Simpson Coleman Alcaraz
    Malouda NZogbia Pedersen Adam Nani
    Drogba Carroll Piq

    Bank: 7.9

I probably won't make any changes to keepers or defence this week, so it'll be midfield/attack. 1 free transfer.

Even though you don't want to change keepers I think the rest of your squad is fine so change Krul. Newcastle have some bad fixtures coming up so although its not the most exciting move getting in the likes of Joe Hart could get you some nice point hauls.

The 'problem' is I want to shift Malouda out, but in 3 games time, Chelsea have a nice run of 4 games.

Foster I'll be playing for the next 2 games, so Krul isn't a transfer I yet need to do as the replacement probably won't be picked anyway. Foster has Wolves and Newcastle.

Perhaps I should way to see if Malouda gets 3 match ban.

Yeah if I was to ship an outfield player it would be Malouda, potentially for Gerrard *bleurgh* as Liverpool have some nice fixtures I think. Obviously fitness dependent.

    Morning all

Which of these factors would you consider to be the chief reason behind the season being so unpredictable so far?

    1) Injuries to key players
    2) The World Cup effect
    3) General higher standard of teams making it more competitive

      3) then 1)

I'd also add that the mixed performances from teams like Chelsea and Liverpool are making things harder to predict. With Liverpool at least you can say that it is down to a lot of new players though Chelsea are acting strange which I can only put down to the instability there.

New boys on the block are Tottenham and City who are never consistent. But both clubs are taking Europe serious which puts more strain on their premiership fixtures.

Not sure that the new arrivals this season are that much better than previous seasons. A lot of promoted teams perform "above expectations"

FIFA is corrupt, and that's not really going to change soon as the only guys who can do that are the ones currently benefitting most. Something should be done, though I don't know what. Certainly wouldn't like a split and have football end up like boxing or darts. Though there have been rumours of something along those lines happening in the future, with clubs suing FAs over international injuries, the big clubs not being happy with UEFA trying to spread their wealth, etc.

MnL he didnt mention Russia, he was on about the Australians bid and for example how they only recieved one extra vote. Two people came out and shook his hand saying that they voted for them so obviously one is a bare faced bullshitter. That and suggesting Qatar got the bid by means other than the quality of their bid. Keep an eye out for it when you get the chance.
