One door closes (The Saturday Surgery) and another doth open for you all (The Dugout Discussion).

It’s all relatively cosmetic but the main thing that can be done now is put up your feet, take in the day’s action and get over that grade III. hangover you picked up during last night’s celebrations. There’s nothing left to do but cross fingers and hope that the Wayne Rooney captaincy [insert your choice previous] you opted for at the last minute proves fruitful.

The Dugout Discussion is open through all of today’s games starting at The Hawthorns in under an hour as Manchester United pay visit to a West Brom side short of defensive options and closing in the same city as Arsenal have an away game against Alex McCleish’s men at St. Andrews…

In-between our Birmingham based bookends we will take in a grand total of six 3pm kick-offs as the New Year supports a rather chock-a-block schedule. Tottenham will host Fulham hoping to continue their charge towards the top four, Liverpool play host to Bolton hoping they can improve from frankly diabolical to middling and winning and Man City play host to Blackpool looking to knock the fresh-faced form travelers off their perch as they aim for the top of the table. A Key clash between West Ham and Wolves also stands out at the bottom of the table while Stoke vs. Everton and Sunderland vs. Blackburn round out the days fixtures.

As already alluded to, the Dugout Discussion will be open and with you right through all of the day up until the bonus judges do their worst as we close out the day.

Anybody going to be getting Odemwingie in for Carroll? Our fixtures coming up are very nice and he will get goals soon I'm sure. Not really any budget strikers apart from Varney/DJ and I don't want one of them and Adam. Welbeck is a possibility but I dunno..

I might actually buy a forward i feel happy to bench. Sick of playing 3 upfront every week and could do with upgrading my defence.

Consider that they'll both play 180 mins, which will re-coup your 4 pt hit, then add on any other points to that.

Sir Alex Ferguson speaking about Wayne Rooney's ankle injury on the Manchester United website: "Our doctor thought, 'That's him - he'll be out for a couple of weeks.' But he came back on and he should be OK for Tuesday (a home game against Stoke)."

    Best cheap defender: Evatt (Blackpool)
    Best cheap striker: Varney
Must have when he's back: Nani

Scout pick useless again. That prick mancini obviously doesn´t have Kolorov in his ff team taking him off after 58 mins so too Fergus taking Berba off after 59. Can´t really complain though have 42 before bonus and Bosingwa and Carroll to play.

One question who does people think is city´s first choice left back Kolorov or zabaleta? Why was Kolorov taken off today after 58 mins? That really f##cked me off.

Need to sell Carroll to get in a Blackpool striker for the double gw, but if i sell him now i'll only get 5.7 for him and if, at some point, i want him back i'll have to pay 6.5. Ahh! what to do?

I am in the same boat. Go for a Blackpool midfielder. Sell Carroll only if you sure you don't want him back

watching (scouting) man city blackpool on football first. never knew how deep adam plays. he's like pirlo as a deep playmaker, very impressive long range probing passes. he basically makes sure that if the pass gets cut out blackpool will win a throw in much further up the pitch. yaya toure has been immense first half, and adam johnson other than his goal and another chance which was well blocked has hardly had a touch. kolarov so far has done nothing wrong so it must be a second half collapse for him

Wait until Matt Phillips absolutely skins him in the second half. Watching my dodgy stream in some weird language, when I saw Zabaleta about to come on in the 57 minute my heart sank. I knew it was my captain who was goners. 🙁

yeha just seen kolarov get run at twice, not really deal with phillips and then got taken off. did look injured at all which i suppose is good.
unlucky on the captain. annoying that 3 minutes more of nothing would have been 10 points more. i suppose you could say the same about tevez, like drogba the other day penalty misses as captain are huge, potential 18 point swings or 20 for midfielders.

not sure how he got them. still anoyed your mate adam johnson got none. one of the reasons i got him is any assist or goal usually means 2 or 3 baps even if he's only on for 10 mins. i expected 6bps from him and nasri, seeing none was tres gay

I expected at least 5 from Yaya and Nasri, as well as possibly some from VDV and Torres - although I didn't watch either game.

Getting only 1 from all my players was an outrage.

oooh so the tevez missed pen cost you an assist. yeah that was the only consolation with nasri and johnson getting none, that vdv and bale only managed 1 between them.

what you think about kolarov? personally getting rid of him has never crossed my mind once. he's stumbling a bit but he's clearly got ridiculous potential

I always planned to bench him this week, but I'll definitely be keeping him for the home game with Wolves. If he doesn't play that then he'll be gone.

yeah if he starts getting rotated he's not worth the money. can't see it personally, only in this uniquely clustered run of games at the moment i think/hope. mancini seems to have a soft spot for zabaleta which could be a problem but i think there's been enough to suggest kolarov is the man at left back

I do enjoy all the comments from people claiming that they were duped into buying Kolarov by this site... They are the sort of the people who had probably never heard of him before City signed, and just follow the advice of this site blindly. And they think they are entitled to some points purely because he was hotly tipped here.

He's 5.7 for one of the best sides defensively, takes some corners and free kicks, gets forward - although on today's evidence he doesn't seem to understand the offside rule 😉 - and has a hammer shot. He as RIDICULOUS potentital! So long as he's actually playing of course... Hopefully he'll settle soon.

See, all logic points to Kolarov being a very good FPL player, so naturally he gets nothing.

Since I transferred Kolarov in, Vincent Kompany has more points than him.

                    This is extremely un cool.

It's just as well that I transferred him a week before most.. He actually got 6 points that week. Since then he's been a complete waste of time.
