This weekend could see a swarm of new January Transfer Window recruits make their debuts. The most tantalising prospect is arguably Manchester City’s new towering target man, Edin Dzeko, who looks set to feature heavily against Wolves. Other new signings include Roque Santa Cruz’s return to Blackburn, Wayne Bridge looking to bolster West Ham’s backline, Tottenham’s forgotten man David Bentley striving to revive his career at Birmingham, while Steve Sidwell is in a comparable position as he prepares for his Fulham debut.

Elsehwere, Andy Carroll has been ruled out of Sunday’s derby with Sunderland leaving Leon Best and Shola Ameobi to fight it out for a place in the Newcastle attack. Manchester United look set to welcome back Wayne Rooney, Nemanja Vidic and Edwin Van Der Sar as they take on a Beckham-less Tottenham side, who have announced Gareth Bale as match fit. Wojciech Szczesny will start at West Ham for Arsenal after Lukasz Fabianski was ruled out of Saturday’s game. David Silva is still touch and go for Manchester City and will find out later today if he will make their squad.

      I wouldn't get Djourou in as West ham usually score at home plus he has no double next week. Would get Kelly instead at same price. I am benching Kelly for this week though

    Really poor line up in many respects I feel, bit of a risk benching Berbatov but he really has just been AWOL the past 3 games and benching him last week proved fairly inspired, if it wasn’t for his good DGW in 24 I’d have shipped him.

    I’d quite like to get Coleman in but not sure who to swap out for him… Evatt I’m thinking? He may have DGWs coming up and did me proud with his assist against Liverpool but his chance for reliable clean sheet returns is minimal…

    Any other transfers I should really do instead? 1.0 in the bank.

      Not sure i agree that it's a poor line up - I think the team is looking quite tasty - your bench is looking a bit strong. Personally i would play Berbatov against his old club ahead of Essien and Campbell - but that's just me!

      good solid defensive 4, only weakness is Torres but I have him and he is unsellable with a DGW coming up next week...

      having a similar dilema... currently toying with 2 mid and 1 foward place with nasri, malouda, fabs, tevez, berb being mixed around...argh wildcard!

      Fab is chosen by 8. something % and think nasri around 30 odd% so if he comes good you'l jump a few places, but berb could be benched in that scenario... Rooney on form will see you good returns but if berb plays with him he will get more points, and nasri has been awesome this year but unsure if it will last, but i kind of want him in my team but cant decide between him and fabs...

          I think you should go with Adam. West Brom let two goals in on corners last weekend and there easily could have been three. Maybe with Carson benched they won't be so bad, but if their backup keeper was any good why hasn't he been playing all season?

        Im not sure on cardiff, and anything could happen in this gam. cardiff are SHITE this season. However, i give castres a 30% chance of winning, 30% cardiff eke out a 1-10, and the slightly bigger 40% 11-20 for cardiff or more.

        So, have to go 11-20 🙂

        Really tough one though, cos cardiff are out, and castres can still qualify if they win theoretically. But theyve left quite a few top players at home, three very biig ones.
