Gameweek 24 closes at Anfield tonight where Liverpool play host to Mark Hughes’ Fulham. Both sides are in the fledgling stages of revival following recent slumps and the home side in particular, will be looking to build on the fine 3-0 win at Wolves at the weekend.

Fernando Torres wears the armband for some Fantasy Premier League managers tonight and hopes will be high following his two goal salvo at Molineux. Kenny Dalglish will be looking to him and the returning Steven Gerrard, to help break down stubborn resistance from what is expected to be an organised Fulham outfit.

Gerrard returns to the starting lineup then, Lucas, who is carrying a minor knock, makes way to allow the skipper to return. Elsewhere, Steve Sidwell makes his debut for the visitors with Dickson Etuhu missing out with a hamstring injury.

There’s also the second Carling Cup semi-final tonight with West Ham taking a slender 2-1 lead to St Andrews. There’s some potentially significant team news there, with Alex McLeish handing a start to Martin Jiranek in central defence, shifting Liam Ridgewell to left-back and benching budget prospect David Murphy.

    i am very confused with all this dgw, triple gw, dgw off, carling cup final etc talk?
    can someone who is 100% sure clarify what happens now birmingham are in the final? i don't understand how the everton v birmingham game is now off if the carling cup final is in gw28 and that game is in gw27?
    obviously with WC thoughts of coleman, cahill, bily 😉 and doubling or tripling up on the brum defense it's pretty important.

      Can still change. I was 100 points ahead of one guy in my league, he got back to within 8 points a few weeks ago and now he's back to being 100 points behind!

    Don't believe it...

    Start of this gameweek I quite literally had my finger on the button for:

    Baines > MKelly (who suddenly is this sites favourite player)
    Rodellega > Berbatov

    then I decided I'd ask the lads here about it and got a unanimous 'No'

    My score if I'd done it: 123

    Still won head to head. And the Pool won twice!

      Well people will give you advice and you choose to take certain advice. The main advice I got this week was

      Don't do a 4 point hit Rafael and Kolarov to Kelly and Vidic. I did it anyway and it worked out.

      A few people put a good case forward for Dempsey as captain. I decided against it and went for Nani. So that was advice I should have followed

      BUT

      a few people also mentioned Berbatov not playing both games and that got me thinking and put me off him as captain. Which as we now know would have been pretty good.

      So at the end of the day, people will always give you their advice, it's still your choice as to whether to do it. If you dont like peoples advice dont ask for it

        I'm not blaming anyone. It's certainly my fault. But (about) a week ago Liverpool's 'defence was terrible'. We looked solid for 160 minutes of the gameweek we were solid as.

        I wanted advice to see what others thought of the switch, I still thought I should do it and in the end, under my own steam, didn't do it. However I have just done it now.
