Gameweek 24 closes at Anfield tonight where Liverpool play host to Mark Hughes’ Fulham. Both sides are in the fledgling stages of revival following recent slumps and the home side in particular, will be looking to build on the fine 3-0 win at Wolves at the weekend.

Fernando Torres wears the armband for some Fantasy Premier League managers tonight and hopes will be high following his two goal salvo at Molineux. Kenny Dalglish will be looking to him and the returning Steven Gerrard, to help break down stubborn resistance from what is expected to be an organised Fulham outfit.

Gerrard returns to the starting lineup then, Lucas, who is carrying a minor knock, makes way to allow the skipper to return. Elsewhere, Steve Sidwell makes his debut for the visitors with Dickson Etuhu missing out with a hamstring injury.

There’s also the second Carling Cup semi-final tonight with West Ham taking a slender 2-1 lead to St Andrews. There’s some potentially significant team news there, with Alex McLeish handing a start to Martin Jiranek in central defence, shifting Liam Ridgewell to left-back and benching budget prospect David Murphy.

    playing with my team during my WC week and can make a REALLY nice team using just non Champlions League players. Gerrard, Meireles, Cahill, Dempsey, Adam etc. Do you reckon its just to risky, rotation or otherwise, leaving Nani, Fabs and VDV out?

    I'll take the risk of looking like a complete idiot now - will someone clarify to me which player is playing in which position for Liverpool tonight? Because Gerrard and Meireles both really seem to run whereever they want to.

    I know this doesn't matter much but I like to know what it looked like on paper.

      I like it for the most part.

      Hart, Carson is a poor choice for upcoming games. Get Foster seeing as he's going to have a triple gameweek very soon.

      Dempsey could be replaced by someone cheaper as well seeing as his double fixture is over and the games only get harder from here on out.

    Why hasn't Manuel Da Costa played in ages? Is he still injured or is it because of that court case?

    I was so close to bring him in in a massive kneejerk one Saturday night, thank f*ck I didn't! He's only played about twice since then.

        It's true that... I often get to the stage where I think he's a decent centre back and then he does something stupid and looks like a mug again.

        They were keeping things pretty tight with Da Costa in the side, an average of just 1 goal conceded per game with him.
