Where did it all go wrong?

Mark claims I should be fined by the FPL for fielding an understrength side for the last few weeks. Cheeky! I just put it down to ‘dark forces at work’, not my fault at all.

So a disastrous double game week for me, then, whilst wildcard-wielding Mark ‘smashed it’, and our rivalry has turned on its head yet again.

Up for discussion today is not the offside rule, but the case for Dimitar Berbatov.

I’m off to the Fantasy Island for a bit of soul searching and I’m bringing no one with me. Enjoy your Dzeko time Mark. Interesting that he stated that he always wanted to come to this island despite having never heard of it.

  Very much a coin tosser for me that one. coleman has attacking threat so could therefore possibly get attacking points. Everton however havent really got an obvious goalscorer in their team realistically so djourou has a good chance of cleansheet. Depends how you look at it. Id say heads coleman tails djourou.

Anyone else thinking of ditching VdV?

Seems like Spurs have more options now and that's eaten into his points tally. Lennon and Modric have been playing really well lately and I'm not sure VdV will get the kind of returns he got earlier on this season.

Im thinking of taking him out either with my WC (replace with Brunt or Nolan) or in GW28. Gamble I know, but both he and Kolarov now appear to expensive liabilities in my team these days.

Thought i was being well cunning my holding on to it, now struggling to use if effectively with so many blanks week 28 and the big teams playing each other.         I was thinking about getting Malouda in as I'll have no Chelsea coverage once my WC is completed, plus I heard he's playing as a 3rd striker now. But if Torres is there, he might not be so effective. And Lamps might affect him too.

Good Listen and kept me entertained whilst the missus watched take me out. Glad you raised the issue of the banter etc seen a few things recently where its put me off posting, little comments like weekend posters not regulars etc I hardly ever post but always read up daily and know who posts alot and who doesn't and because I don't post much, when I do I feel I may end up getting crap off people for having a view or asking a question that may seem like an obvious answer or stupid question to you guys but a genuine I don't actually know so that's why I'm asking! if that makes sense.

Just going through captains points from the FPL number 1, Katie & myself.

FPL number 1 - (c)=199/317 62.7% Bench=174 11.8%

Katie - (c)=183/307 59.6% Bench=167 11.5%

TM - (c)=152/302 50.3% Bench=168 12.9%

Goes to show how important the right captain is.

Anyone else have better than 60% for captains points?

        Best player each week totaled 277 points.
        
        Captains scored 130 Other top player, or 2nd if Capt was first scored 277
        
        130/277 * 100 = 46.9%
        
        Surely having a decent captain, say Tevez, and a poor team would bump up your figures up considerably. But what does this data really prove? Your kicking ass with your captain, or the rest of your team the sh*t? Also what is the bench bit about?

        Less than 50% isn't great for captain points. The captain is your 12th player & should be a high scorer in your team. Data shows
        
        a) how well your captain picks are doing.
        b) how well your other 10 players are doing.
        c) bench points = points left on bench including 2nd keeper, not as relevant as you can only play 1 keeper.

    If the highest scoring player on your team got 14points
    And your captain got 7 points (obviously doubled then)
    Your captain % is 50% i believe
    (I am not the expert and do not have the "script" to run these stats)

        Using the highest gameweek scorer even if it's the captain. You get 100% for the week when you get it right. You need to use bench points but it is rare that your bench spots have your highest scorer.

      cheers for doin that man! im having an absolute shocker of a season. i started well then started doing shit and made loads of 12 point hits and completely fuc*ed myself. im gettin back into it now though. if i could break the top 100,000 i would be delighted. its only my second year on it,im gettin alot wiser with my transfers,so beware next year! 🙂

    Bench points don't mean so much. Sometimes you don't have a full bench of scorers & if you 2nd keeper scores less than your main keeper then you couldn't get those points anyway. Working out the difference between your playing keeper & your bench keeper & bench players vs your outfield player & staying in 3 defender formation would be alot better.

Have 0.8 in the bank. Wondering wether I need to make a change or not? was thinking about Rooney -> RVP or Rooney -> Drogba but I'm not sure with villa at home. Any other suggestions?

Ok if I captained the right player every week I would have 560 points, but from the players I actually did captain I'm on 266 so 47.5%?

If the player which was highest was my actual captain I just added it to both lists which I assume is correct?
