This evening Birmingham City have confirmed a new date for their trip to Stamford Bridge, a fixture postponed due to their involvement in the weekend’s Carling Cup Final.

The match will take place on April 20, tacking itself onto the end of gameweek 33.

This gives a double fixture to both teams and means that Chelsea now have a rather appetising little run of games (WIG, wba/BIR, WHM) which will surely tempt Fantasy investment, if they can demonstrate some improved form.

It’s a spell that could well see Fantasy Managers snapping at the opportunity to get on the back of belated Didier Drogba or Frank Lampard bandwagons, or perhaps give new boys Fernando Torres or David Luiz a crack of the whip.

Birmingham meanwhile, see the re-arranged fixture drop alongside a home encounter with Sunderland, in a far more average run of opponents (bla, SUN/che, liv). That spell might not exactly scream renewed investment but, as Alex McCleish’s men also have a double set of fixtures in gameweek 29, we may see many Fantasy managers sit tight on their investments to take them into this additional double.

The slight caveat here is that if Birmingham can beat Bolton in the Quarter-Finals of the FA Cup in a couple of weeks time, then their game with Sunderland will be postponed to an as of yet unknown later gameweek to allow for another trip to Wembley for the Semi-Finals. That may see them slip back to just the unappealing trip to Chelsea.

As we well know, Chelsea themselves no longer have this issue after being knocked out by Everton so, bar some freak weather (or such like), they will definitely have two fixtures.

Our Season Tickers will be updated shortly to reflect today’s announcement.

Anyone think its worth a 4pt for the next 2 game-weeks to do the following?

    Fab/Odem --> Rooney/Ohara

    Week after...

    Rooney/Ohara --> Cahill/Zigic (both doubles)

Will need to take at least a 4pt hit this week to field 11 (seeing as Rooney plays 2x I thought its justified, otherwise I'll bring in Cahill this week (still for a hit) but not have to make another hit the following week, plus would ideally like to see how Cahill preforms this week before I commit.

    This is interesting: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1359251/Samir-Nasri-wont-commit-Arsenal-France-star-puts-contract-talks-hold.html

Heard from a well connected spud fan that agreements were sorted for Fabs to Barca this summer and Nasri to Madrid next year. Took that as a load of old horse cackery but Mfaulk seemed to think that was fairly plausible. Now this pops up... hmmm.

If Arsenal crumble in the league, and get knocked out in the FA Cup and Champions' League, these may well be plausible stories.

It sounds like Nasri is keeping his options open in case Arsenal don't show signs of progression in terms of getting the results in May.

Hey guys, I gambled on Chelsea beating Everton and got rid of Berba for Odem. I planned on just bringing in a keeper this week (both not playing this next gw). Now I'm wondering if to move Rvp for Rooney and play with no keeper.

Reason is bring someone with 2 games rather than 1. Makes sense?

The moving of Rvp just to bring him back is what is making me think twice. I'm not a fan of such moves.

Trying to convince myself that Nani & Vidic is enough coverage for the dgw. If I don't move for Rooney I will be playing a 2-3-5 formation instead of 3-3-4.

Yup, they have a tough run of games. I'm trying not to get too excited about it (I'm a Man u fan). The smart play would be to address the obvious and field an 11.

Thinking about bringing in Howard...feel that win over Chelsea may be the bounce Everton need to go on a nice run.

If youre going to spend quite a substantial amount on howard id recommend you just get vds. If youre concerned about his tougher fixtures he rotates well with foster. If youre willing to double on everton for GW29 (if you buy howard) then you may aswell double on man utd for GW28

Was thinking Ridgewell>D. Simpson and Rodallega>Rooney so I can field XI. But with Cahill in doubt should I take my chances with Rodallega and drop Cahill for someone else? I was thinking about taking an 8 point hit so I can have my cake and eat it too.

Yeah, 90(provisional) does look better than 89(Provisional), if we ignore the fact that a quality player will not now be playing against Blackpool.

Not the first time that not playing Coleman has been the wrong decision.

Shouldn't complain too much, still likely to get over 100 for first time this season, just that everyone else aslo has the players that are going to get the missing points.

    Champions League questions:
Should I dump Guaita (Valencia 3 points) for Wiland (FC Copenhagen) versus Chelsea?
Should I change my captain from Messi to Essien? Keep in mind I have Robben, Gomez and Nani to choose from for Wednesday (assuming at least one of them starts).

Should I change my captain from Messi to Essien?

Thanks. I was leaning toward keeping Guaita hoping that Chelsea would somehow regain their form and blow out FC Copenhagen.
On the second question, I will probably dump Messi on Wednesday but as I think about it more, Essien's potential return isn't worth the risk that he could get sent off (I'd be stuck with him as my captain).

anyone got a view on the Man Utd back line for the double game week?
    VDS

    Raphael/O'Shea? Vid Smalling? Evra

The liklihood is that Rafael and O Shea will be rotated. I fancy O Shea to start Vs Marseille (considering Rafael's start v Crawley and subsequent knock). If Rafael is fit he'll be played against Wigan and then I think Fergie will choose O Shea's experience against Chelsea.

I'm not too sure on Smalling either. Rio will be back almost certainly for the Chelsea game.

It's VDS or Vidic if you want someone from the United backline for the DGW. No point taking a punt on the others.

So I think i'm finally set on transfers and now Cahill is a doubt. Looking at just doing Djourou -> Walker this week and not play a keeper. Seem the best option? Squad is below:

    Foster, Stockdale
    Djourou, Rafael, Bosingwa, Kelly, Coleman
Nani, Fabs, VDV, A Young, Adam
    Tevez, RVP, Wingie
    Bank 0.5m

Yeah, if Adam gets booked then he probably has to go. If Bosingwa confirmed not playing this week as well, then maybe Adam & Bosingwa -> Barton & Smalling(?) - Will leave enough to do Wingie -> Saha for Everton's double in GW29...thoughts?

        2 reasons i guess

        1) He's expected to be back for GW29 at Wolves
        2) I'd lose a fair bit of value on him and would want him back in till the end of the season.

Problem with bootin' Djorou is you'll need him for ARS fix to the end of season.
My gut feeling would be either Bergovic for S'dale who rotate well together OR Adam to Nolan who has nice fix coming up.
VDV and the ARS players will be needed to be kept for later fix.
      An interesting dilemna though.

True. If Adam gets booked tonight then he is almost definitely out - can't get Nolan though as 0.2m short. Problem with Begovic is that after this GW i'll rarely play him again so it's a bit of a waste. If Bosingwa confirmed not playing before the deadline then will probably dump him also. Just realised my team is a mess.

Yes-sorry forget Adam-he hasn't been booked...yet! You need all hands on deck!
Bergovic rotates well with Foster so not necessarily a waste. STK have some useful home form too.
Then we come to Rafael and Bosingwa. Problem here is that their teams have fixtures so it might be worth keeping them.
Hell, you are in a mess. Still liking the Bergovic move.

Saha, worry about him getting injured when it happens, all those that waited for van Persie to get injured have missed out on serious points and Saha is the same scenario.

Indeed. A green arrow in GW28 would potentially be 8 in a row so I'm desperate to keep that going. Will need a miracle to field 10/11 this week without multiple hits. Posted it above also, but assuming Adam gets booked and Bosingwa doesn't play, what about:

GW28: Adam & Bosingwa -> Barton & Smalling (4 point hit) - will leave enough funds to do..
            GW29: Wingie -> Saha

Will still only be able to field 9 with that so let's hope Adam & Bos play!

I'd leave it to the last minute on Saturday and decide then on your transfers.
Make your transfers with the fixture list in mind rather than worrying abt this gwk alone. All the best.

i can see rooney and berbatov outscoring rvp between now and gwk35 (when i plan to ditch them two)

rvp's form means hes going to get more and more attention from opposition defenders and he wont keep up this scoring run imo

                Cant agree Tosey.

Defenders wont be able to stop him taking penalties ,frees and corners in the worst of circumstances.

And RVP is just so good it doesnt matter how much attention he gets , defenders arent suddenly going to change how they play against him cos he is in form.

RVP will outscore Fabregas anyway which means having him, Tevez and a United striker is probably best.

But given the news just now that Giggs is out Rooney looks to be starting wide left in CL and Berbatov also.
Not very tempting for Wigan away now are the 2 United players and then Chelsea, Liverpool away

                  u may well be right

i just picked up on fergies comments about wanting the front two to start firing away from home and he usually has a knack of getting teh best out of his players with his media work

my main point for doing it is the lad im trying to catch has rvp and tevez but no utd strikers, hes 16th in the world and i want to have one last ditch attempt to close the gap, i dont really care where i finish overall, its all about the money for me and im 130 pts clear of 3rd in my minileague so can afford a gamble

if i stick with the same players he has i have no hope of catching him

if i was going for a high finish id prob play safe but finishing 1k or 25k really doesnt make that much difference as ill collect the same amount of money

a gamble on berbatov and rooney, hoping they hit some form gives me a slim chance of catching him and getting another £200 if i top the league

nobody knows how man city will line up with dzeko and balotelli fit now and arsenal have a lot of fixtures coming up
