Adam Earns Two-Match Ban

Charlie Adam has this evening earned his tenth booking of the season, a pointless yellow card for a late challenge on Tottenham’s Michael Dawson in a 3-1 win – he will now face an immediate two-match ban. Adam will miss Blackpool’s next two league matches at Wolves and at home to Chelsea.

This comes as a major blow for Fantasy Managers who already face the tough task of getting a full starting XI out for gameweek 28 given the blank fixtures for Arsenal, Spurs and Birmingham. With an ownership of 37% in the Fantasy Premier League game, Adam could now be forced out of many a Fantasy squad through pure necessity.

It’s worth considering that, on Adam’s return from suspension, Blackpool face two straight away games – a pair of tough encounters at Fulham and Blackburn. Following that however, Adam and Blackpool have an incredible run of four consecutive home matches with Arsenal, Newcastle, Wigan and Stoke all due at Bloomfield Road. It could well be feast and famine when it comes to Adam’s prospects then.

Adam opened the scoring from the spot in tonight’s 3-1 for Blackpool and is expected to in amongst the FPL Bonus points once again.

    I just checked Charlie Adams history in official fantasy and counted up 9 yellows including 2nite! Am i thick r missing something! Check it out!

        None in the cups,. It's down to a disputed one that he originally received then it was changed to Taylor fletcher. I still have a feeling it's wrong, unless somebody can show me a video of that game game and prove it was him!

      Someone like Taylor-Fletcher was given a booking in FPL but it was actually Adam's and wasn't ever corrected.

    Just got home. Shame about Adam's booking but a great result! Is anyone just going to keep Adam and bench him for 2 games, not many others at a similar price. What were the Champions League games like, worth watching the highlights?

      I'm selling. IMO, a midfield spot is too valuable to keep someone on the bench, especially given Arsenal's situation when they have great fixtures after the blank.
      After Adam serves his ban, Blackpool play Blackburn (away), Fulham (away), Arsenal (home). These fixtures don't look tempting to me either. After the Arsenal game he is definitely in though.

    0.9 free, but with Adam now joining VDV, RVP and Arshavin in "no-gaming" this week, i have to take a hit AAAAAANNNDD hope Andy Carroll appears at the weekend to get 11 out.

    Wondered what evryone thinks about Adam for Fellaini???

    i lose my great cost in Adam (paid 5.0) and Fellani is often a big fat waste of space....... BUT could be a safe bet, with Cahill doubtful, (mite even play further forward) with the DGW and be a good differential? Plus i get to keep Arshavin for Arsenal's nice upcoming fixtures and hes a nice differential too...

    Thoughts????

        +1. He's good at headers in the midfield, that is about it. Doesn't seem to translate to fantasy points. I think Baines, Cahill & Coleman are the only Everton players worth considering.

        I'm not a big fan of taking a hit for a defender. Without a clean sheet, you're better off not playing a full squad.
