Charlie Adam has this evening earned his tenth booking of the season, a pointless yellow card for a late challenge on Tottenham’s Michael Dawson in a 3-1 win – he will now face an immediate two-match ban. Adam will miss Blackpool’s next two league matches at Wolves and at home to Chelsea.

This comes as a major blow for Fantasy Managers who already face the tough task of getting a full starting XI out for gameweek 28 given the blank fixtures for Arsenal, Spurs and Birmingham. With an ownership of 37% in the Fantasy Premier League game, Adam could now be forced out of many a Fantasy squad through pure necessity.

It’s worth considering that, on Adam’s return from suspension, Blackpool face two straight away games – a pair of tough encounters at Fulham and Blackburn. Following that however, Adam and Blackpool have an incredible run of four consecutive home matches with Arsenal, Newcastle, Wigan and Stoke all due at Bloomfield Road. It could well be feast and famine when it comes to Adam’s prospects then.

Adam opened the scoring from the spot in tonight’s 3-1 for Blackpool and is expected to in amongst the FPL Bonus points once again.

Full Scout notes on tonight’s match will follow.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

          Hoping to.

But I reckon Faurlin is going to take the prem by storm next season too. Was thinking about it today and he reminds me a lot of Arteta, actually.

Gorkks could also be a Huth/Johnson type.

Man, its going to feel so good seeing QPR shirts in our fantasy teams next season, Henry!

Never really paid any mind to it before.

Still trying to decide if I'm doing Odem and RVP to Rooney and Tevez or Lennon and Odem to Cahill and Rooney.

Both 4 pointers, but since everyone is going to take hits this week 4 pts to field 11 with DGW'ers is good value.

I don't see an obvious transfer for Adam, even with an extra $1.9 in the bank.

I now have the following 4 players out this week . . .

    - Fabregas
    - Van Persie
    - Walcott
    - Adam

Anyone think the following moves are a good idea and I will just wait Adam out?

    GW28 - Walcott to A.Young
    GW29 - A.Young to Cahill

I'm in the group waiting it out on Adam. If there was a good replacement near his price, he'd be out for sure, but that isn't the case, so he's worth keeping considering most will just get him back. All this mass hysteria is insane, considering how easy it will be to replace a lackluster Fabregas with whichever one of Cahill, Young, or VDV seems like the best bet.

        ev - 6 pts
        wb - 3
        mc - 5
        sc - 8
        bw - 4

I would not remove RVP normally, but missing GW28 and he might be rested gw29 ( preparation for Barca). I will get him back for gw30. Will do Odemwingie -> RVP then to reach front line of Tevez, RVP and Rooney. Will fund it by downgrading Vidic -> Kolarov/someone cheaper

Picking Barton over Adam cost me 11 points, but if I still had Adam I'd only have 8 players on the field this weekend before transfers, so if Barton can get a goal against Bolton it would almost even out.

He'll probably break Elmander's leg and get sent off, though, cause he's a dirty thug.

    Robinson, (Foster)
    Vidic, Coleman, Huth, (Djourou), (Dawson)
    Nani, Cahill, Albrighton, (VDV), (Adam)
    Rooney, DJCampbell, (RVP)

    already made a fab–>cahill switch… sigh.
atm thinking of just fielding that and hope for the best.. as i would need to take hits to field more players.

We all new Adam was going to get booked, but his 16pts is very handy.

Adam was lucky not to get sent off for that ridiculous lunge. With the vast majority of active FF managers having him I guess most people are in the same boat for GW28.

When I saw RVP out I wanted to scream especially with 2 of my nearest rivals captaining Fabregas this week. I thought I'd been pretty smart keeping my Arsenal exposure down to 2 outfield players for next week but with Bentley bringing in a whopping 5 points over 2 matches before the Crap Cup Final and Adam now taking a 2 week holiday in the Gorbals I need to take a hit to field 11.

I'd quite like to get David Silva in for some more Man C exposure but am now pondering Yaya instead so I can snap up an extra Man U mid for their DGW. So here's the question...

Which Man U midfielder, aside from Nani, is likely to play both games in the DGW?

agreed. People need to calm down. Most people have some gunners/tottenham/birmingham/adam. I will field 9 this week, not really an issue. Most people will either be taking a hit to field XI, or fielding fewer.

I want Adam in my team long term, and VdV, and RVP, so they stay. Adam has been so immense I dont know why people would want to sell him. His price wont drop a lot and he will come back fully fit for the run in.

Good morning. saved up two transfers for this GW in case the walls caved in. And they have. brought in cahill after replay game but before injury doubt news, regrets. There really just is no reason to transfer until the morning of the deadline. I cant seem to beat that into my own head. Sguad ATM:

    Myhill

    Huth, Coleman, Kelly, Simpson

    Nani(c), Cahill, Brunt

    Rooney, Berbatov, Tevez

(Szczesny, VDV, Adam, Carr) 3.4 in bank

can i afford to suffer a blank from cahill with the 3 DGWers or is there a justified transfer for adam -4 points?

Not worth it IMO. Most will have depleted squads and it's so tight at the moment in the overal ranking that -4pts could mean lots of rankings.

I for one will use my 2 free trades, and still only field 10 players. No keeper for me.

          Hi,

Yes, I thought about that. Its just my rivals have Nani, and i need to mix it up a bit, its a long shot, and quite risky, but i need to try something different.

I have quite the options this week, and a bit of money in the bank. My thoughts so far are:

          Vaughan > A Young
          Walcott > Giggs

Get Walcott back following gameweek, and take the hit on the cash.

Im not too sure, i wake up thinking about it every night, and evry night a different scenario. Think I need help. Haha.

Ok, so my squad (below) is a disaster - can currently only field a max of 8. Any ideas? It's such a mess i'm considering writing the GW off and saving the extra transfer for GW29. Any ideas would be great. Ta

    Foster, Stockdale
    Djourou, Bosingwa, Rafael, Coleman, Kelly
Fabs, Nani, VDV, Adam, A Young
    Tevez, RVP, Wingie
    Bank 0.5m

depends if u want to keep adam long term and are willing to bench him for 2 weeks

Not that fussed tbh - he's been a good servant, but 2 games banned then 2 away games = he can go for me, and if I want him back after that i'll suck up the 0.2m loss.

Does this plan seem ok - is for an 8 point hit but means I can potentially field 11 & 2 extra doublers...

Stockdale, Adam & Fabs - VDS, Barton & Arteta

Would leave me with sufficient funds to then do Wingie -> Saha in GW29

in theory sounds like a good plan, but u need to think whether those 3 players can make up the 8 point hit. could work out.
any reason for arteta? hasnt exactly been on fire recently

            Reason for the 3 are:

VDS - GW28 double and rotates perfectly with Foster for rest of the season
Barton - decent fixtures, cheap and on all set pieces
Arteta - should play more advanced if Cahill doesn't make it (also was very advanced in last game), plus on set pieces (with Baines) and leaves enough cash to do Wingie -> Saha in GW29.

I think worst case VDS will get 5 points and Barton & Arteta 2 each = 9 points. Also gives me an extra double in GW29 (arteta). You think of anything better?

vds is definately worth it and Barton I can see the value as well.
yeah not many other decent mids for <8.5 or so, so i guess arteta is worth a shout, also works as a differential i suppose!

Well, imo, you have to change Stockdale - so get van der Saar. That means you have to sell one of Fabregas, Ban der Vaart or van Persie. Choose the one that makes you the most money. Then buy either an Everton midfielder, or Bent, or another forward of your choice ...

Only lose 0.1m on Fabs so he probably has to go, especially given RVP and VDV are definite season keepers for me barring injuries. Will just have to hope RVP gets played in GW29!

How about this for a plan...

GW28: Stockdale & Fabs -> VDS & D Silva (4 point hit which VDS should make back on his own)
Gw29: Adam & Wingie -> Gardner & Saha (4 point hit but both doublers)

    current team:

    Begovic (foster)
    coleman, huth, kelly, simpson (djourou)
    Nani, cahill, (vdv, adam, ferguson)
    berbs, odemwingy (rvp)

already used my free transfer (fabs -> cahill doh!)

wanted to do odemwingy -> tevez but seems a bit stupid now that adam is out. plan was to get tevez this week and adam -> Fabs next week
    any ideas?

I'd ditch Adam - Wingie will play this week and you need starters (like me). Arteta an option although him and Cahill may be overkill.

yeah im thinking that, but it would only be a 1 week transfer cos i want Fabs next week.
midfielder for 1 week only? no price limit

Hmmm, no stand out choices. For me, maybe

          1) A Young (On pens and Blackburn are pretty dire away from home)
          2) Lampard (starting to get better and at home to a Man U team who played at the w/e)
          3) D Silva (On form and Fulham poor away from home)

Next year I'm putting together two teams - one with no points hits, the other with plenty of them to finally figure out which approach is best...

Maybe make 3 sides, 2 with hits. If both can beat the no hits team then it works for you.

It may fall to Andrei Arshavin to fill Van Persie's boots, and Wenger is confident that a player who has been low on confidence can rediscover his form.

"I love Arshavin because he's a player who can always give you hope that he can make the difference,'' Wenger said. "He was troubled by confidence problems for a while but he is now back and that goal against Barcelona helped him.

"He is a top-level player who lives on success and when it doesn't go for you for a while you question 'What am I not doing right and why?'. Nobody is immune to that.

"I have seen so many big players - and believe me Andrei is one of them - and they all go through periods like that. It is part of being a human being.''

Come on Shava! MAke me rich

Yup will play him and pray. Decided to use the 2 frees to get rid of fabs and VDV/adam for this GW and play without a gk. Will only lose 0.2 to get VDV and fabs back.

    I'm resigned to play 10 i think..

    Hart (Myhill)
    Kolorov Collocinni Huth (Djouorou, Dawson)
    Nani Jarvis Raul (Adam, Fabs)
    Bent (Zigic, RVP)

Its going to have to be points hit here so i can make changes

Firstly Tevez for RVP? but not sure about the second one because it leaves money tight as (were talking the likes of Lee in for Adam here!)
