    I have Barton, was working on the principle that as he was injured in warm-up, he had been named on the team sheet and had to be substituted.
    
    I.e. he stays in your team on 0. Glad i took a four point hit...

Looks like my plan to ship Rooney out has been trumped by a more urgent need to get rid of Cahill after 1 GW.. will probably straight-swap for Arteta - is that what most people are considering?

Also, is there any news on VDV? Is he likely to be fit for the Wolves game?

        there is excitement about it, there always is with the old firm regardless how many times we play each other.
        
        However, as a rangers fan i would not mind losing the cup tie tonight to allow us to focus on the league and europe. with a squad of only 17 players we are struggling.
        
        although, in saying that come kick off il my tune will change.

        Incredible result in Lisbon last week. My friend is a gers season ticket holder and my "you are out. Fact" comment after the first leg was being quoted a few times last week! The equalising goal was just bizarre. You had about 11 players waiting to tap in.

        Great result and as it transpired it helped scottish football aswell so a fantastic night. I know - as soon as it went in i thought there must have been an offside in there somewhere. Shame to see the Sporting manager lost his job because of it. PSV will be a much tougher tie. we have over performed this year in europe anything from now on in is a bonus. Although i cant see UEFA being too keen on rangers going to Dublin for the final.

    I really do not understand why everyone is suddenly desperate for Chelsea coverage. Bla, MANC, Sto is not a great run of fixtures. None of our strikers are firing. None of our midfielders are firing. And we will do well to keep clean sheets in these games.

      Given your history in this game this is the one bit advice I should listen to.. Made a disastrous wildcard last week and now have 5 injured players.. Was considering Bringing in Lampard and Zigic for Fellaini and RVP until you said that! Kind of expect them to hammer Blackpool, and their fixtures after those three games do get a lot kinder..

        Whilst I seriously respect Si's opinion, especially on Chelsea, they are playing an Adam-less blackpool this week. Given that half the desirable players in the fpl are currently injured, flat-track-Lampard is very likely to come in for me this week.

Yes Im ecstatic this morning. Another victory in the fantasy cup, Im officially caught up in the damn thing. 1,024 remain. overall ive had a mediocre campaign compared to most of you regulars here, but ive got this nice little treasure I continue to chase. Im nervous to see who the next opponent will be. Im sure I have one of the lower rankings of whos left.

Quick question-the quote on Cahill is "two to three weeks". even though he misses the double, wont he likely be out only for one GW since GW30 isnt until the 19th? That would be just a day or two under 3 weeks. Wondering if dropping him now would be short sighted because GWs 30-33 are still nice fixtures.

      its difficult. I was also about 50 points behind my mini league leader, and fighting on two fronts made for very difficult decisions.
      
      I avoided hits as best I could, but sometimes they are just unavoidable. I would always wait to see what my opponent did, unless I had a clear plan and money was very tight.
      
      The complication witht that form of the game, of course, is consistency - you cant justify points hits by saying they will pay off 'in time'!

      If I were in your position, I would do Cahill->Young, who I think is coming to form. Villa's fixtures are favourable for the run-in, too. Downing, if you need the extra cash. I dont think Arteta, or Everton, have enough form to warrant investment.

The last I saw yesterday Odemwingie was on about 30% on the drops. Woops. Normally I wouldn’t moan about a .1 drop but now the for the next three transfers (two this week, one the next) I will be .1 short damn it! Plan B!

So annoying that he didn’t go up when he had a kajillion transfers in for the double gameweek. There was no need for protection when he didn’t even miss a single game. Then the protection ends, he gets benched by Hodgson and then this is the result. Frustrating.

        I’m not too far behind you depending on Johnson and Barton. It is a given that it’ll be 4points but had planned no more than that. However, if taking a bigger hit, at least it is a double gameweek and those teams don’t have the worst fixtures in the week to follow either.

  United have to try and paste the Pool at the weekend, Sir Wrigley's Juicyfruit will go 4-4-2, so I would say Berbatov should get a start as Hernandez looked lively last night, he made little impact the little guy.
  
  I want VDV back soon too but am waiting to see what happens with the Champignons League, don't know if he is due to be available this weekend. Coleman went off last night at half time, just crap (a common theory) or injured?
  
  Looks like you will have to make a move to be honest, and that move would be Cahill OUT Arteta IN, how hopelessly boring of me to suggest, and while I don't think Arteta will do very well, at least he should get 4 at the very least.

Jaysus, FPL really dropped the ball with this whole autosubs delay thing haven't they? Makes you wonder whether it really is just one guy sitting at a PC as Bonus Judge, Jury and Executioner of updates, or is there a dedicated FPL department, if so, it would be a pain in the arse to work there because you couldn't ruin your life by playing FPL and being addicted to it like us peeps, which naturally, is awesome.
