After the feast of yesterday’s eight fixtures we’ve got a relative famine this afternoon as we have just two games to sate our fantasy appetite this Sunday afternoon.

The Dugout Discussion swings open it’s doors once again as the two English sides knocked out of the Europa League in midweek are left to pick themselves back up and dust themselves down, starting with Liverpool at Sunderland.

The News from the Stadium of Light sees Danny Welbeck coming for Steed Malbranque as he makes his first start in over two months following a knee injury. Kenny Dalglish meanwhile gives Andy Carroll his first Premier League start in a Liverpool shirt as he (and Jay Spearing) come into the Liverpool side. The full teams are…

Sunderland XI: Mignolet; Bardsley, Bramble, Mensah, Ferdinand; Sessegnon, Henderson, Muntari, Richardson; Welbeck, Gyan

Liverpool XI: Reina; Carragher, Agger, Skrtel, Johnson; Spearing, Lucas; Kuyt, Meireles, Suarez; Carroll

After Asamoah Gyan and Luis Suarez have had time to think back on their long hot summer together we’ll be capital bound to close out the season as Chelsea host Man City as the two sides scrap for continued points in the fight for the Champions League spaces. With talk that Tevez may very well have undertaken a late fitness test on his groin plenty of managers will be hotly anticipating the results – especially those vicarious enough to hand him their fantasy armband.

The chatroom will be open through all the action as the Dugout Discussion is here to close out the last gameweek of the month.

The sad thing is that it won him man of the match which will likely have a bearing on the BPs. Spearing was by far the best Liverpool player today but then thats only my opinion.
Everything crossed he doesn't get the 3 (will be 6 to my rival - f****** gutted today)

He means that Alex will probably get some gametime before the champions league games to get him up to match fitness - so someone is gonna make way, probably Luiz.

I think the reward probably outweighs the risk, might jsut be a case of Alex coming on in the later parts of some games, Luiz might miss a game but i can't see anymore than that - Chelsea looking better at the back now than they have been for ages.

Sweet jesus. Read carefully. Alex hasn't played in 4 months. So do you think Carlo will just throw him in for CL games and out for prem games? That is madness. He needs minutes and will probably start against Stoke or Wigan. Who do you think will make way, Luiz!

Honestly as a Chelsea fan dont see Luiz being a certain starter, alex and him will rotate, with bosingwa and ivanovic also rotating.

Would love Luiz for the double as cant afford any others, but the only two that are certain to play both in the double are cole and terry.

why would you rotate luiz when he can't play in the CL

He has played awesome last few games, why take him out and risk brining in alex or bosingwa who are far from solid.

LOL @ you are talking like Alex is a great player

He has always been a backup, the only reason he played for quite a long spell for chelsea was because of injuries to Bosingwa
