What have Mark’s facial hair and Roger Johnson’s short back and sides got in common? Both somehow make appearances in this hastily arranged episode of the Scoutcast. That reminds me, I learnt a new word today in my car ride to work – ‘merkin’ – honestly I had no idea before today. (Get to the point Granville – Editor Mark)

Focusing on the serious business of Fantasy Football and I stretched my lead this week, contrary to Mark’s assessment of my ‘troubled’ squad in last week’s episode; he really needs to pull off miracles now if he’s to get back in it.

Elsewhere, Aleksandar “Lolorov” gets more than just a passing mention. Is it me or does that player get more attention on our site than any other player bar Nicolas Bendtner and Matt Taylor?

All aboard is back and guess who’s the most transferred player in this week? I’ll give you a clue – he’s not playing this weekend. Oh how we love those casual Fantasy Football managers!

If it was me, just be looking into changing some of those bench players, and maybe have only VdV or Nani. Both are being rested too much at the moment for me.

So, the watchlist update confirmed my last defender position on the WC, now just have the Dempsey > Walcott change to weigh up.

What do you all think to it? WC team is,
    Foster Mignolet
    Walker Cahill Dawson Luiz Jones
    Dempsey Nani Lampard Young O'hara
    Rooney Gyan RVP

Don't think that Walcott is guaranteed to start tomorrow, apparently he - as well as Song - is having his knock assessed at some time today.

We all know Wenger exaggerates a little sometimes, he also says he will be okay. But I kinda fancy Dempsey v Man U this week...

It is almost who looks more favourable in double week. Depends on Gyans form as well, could do Gyan>Zamora, Dempsey>Walcott. Hoping to save 2 transfers for 34

Why not have Walcott (assuming he is fit) for the next two weeks and then swap him for Dempsey - just before Fulham's double?

Also not sure if I'd put Rooney in a wildcard team. Being on a wildcard seems like the ideal opportunity to take a punt on a Chelsea forward for the next couple of weeks.

Already in my team, not bought in. Being out makes my selection this week easier, already struggling for 3 defenders. And I can only think that rest for 2 games is a good thing.

Looking at my team over next 3 weeks, I think I need to do the transfer otherwise I have 3 out next week, but I won't be able to afford Dempsey back (I paid 6.7 for him), so will have to be Duff/Etuhu. But yeah, plan is to play him for 2 weeks for the double then swap back out.

            Thanks Jamie.

I've heard (from someone with close City ties) that we've talked about a £5m deal for him.

We would be able to afford that easily, especially if Mr Bhattia puts his hand into his considerable pockets once we go up.

id take £5m if there were clauses for add ons ie plays for england scores x amount of goals etc

weve got pitman whos young and seems a suitable replacement for this level

he'll do well if you get him but there have appareently been liverpool n everton scouts down at the gate recently so could end up a bidding war

I know Liverpool scouts were watching him, didn't realize Everton as well.

I also heard that we were interested in Kevin Doyle, should Wolves go down.

the best thing for us about maynard is hes a nice lad by all accounts, he doesnt have an agent - when we signed him from crewe he turned up with his mum for the negotiations

Are Tottenham bad at defending set pieces? I know they conceded from one against Real, but that was more down to the confusion caused by Lennon pulling out so close to kick-off more than anything else.

As Nomar says, Tottenham's defensive record has been much better ever since Dawson came into the side, and I'd be surprised if they fail to score yet again.

It's a hard one, because it essentially comes down to whether or not Chelsea get a penalty this week. 😉

Read some worrying comments on twitter this morning saying that Fabregas *thinks* he's ready to start at Blackpool, so Wenger's press conference could make up your mind for you, if he hints at Fabregas being on the bench again.

I think that, given you wouldn't be captaining Lampard, you can go without him for this week. But even after that, it doesn't make much sense getting rid of Fabregas with him having a double too. Is there no way of affording both? That's what all the cool kids are doing. 😛

Getting both could be done but it would mean downgrading Rooney to Bent (3 Villa this week?), going without Adam this week and then taking a hit next week with Young to Adam, Lolarov to Luiz. Hmmmmmm.

To be fair it's ok to watch, just don't really like getting involved. It's hilarious when someone gets livid when Etherington does get an assist or Harper only makes 2 saves etc.

    Luiz Smalling Salcido
Adam VdV Nani Nasri A Young
    RVP Rooney (Zigic)

I'm mulling over a couple of options:

    A) Rooney > Drogba
Salcido > Salgado or P Jones

    B) Rooney > Tevez

    GRAND NATIONAL 😉

Any decent betting tips? Always have a flutter on a serious bet and a bet for a laugh, e.g. I like the name of the horse, so.

    Serious = Comply or Die
For a Laugh = Can't buy Time/Putney Bridge (reminds me of watching Charlton away at Fulham)

    Any other suggestions?

Using my free and a 4pt hit to get this team this week:

    Foster
    Luiz, Kolarov, Huth, Coleman
    Lampard, Nani, Meireles, Downing, Jarvis
    Van Persie(c)

Bench: Al Habsi, Djourou, Rooney, Zigic

    Look ok?

Defence is pretty dodgy fixture wise, but looks fine other than that.

Yep, next week's transfers are addressing that! Just wanted to get Lampard in this week 'cos he's facing Wigan.

has anyone else noticed that one plus of lampard being horribly expensive is that you can easily tell if your rivals have him by the number of transfers this week?

e.g. my main mini-league rival has 1.7 in the bank, his most expensive midfielder is VDV at 8.9, and has only done one transfer, ergo, no lampard

Yeah, but do you know how much he had in the bank before making the transfer? It's possible that he had around 5 million in the bank, especially if VDV is/was his most expensive midfielder.

    To Jamsiep,

Are you predicting that Blackpool will get relegated, and talking up DJ as a fantasy prospect?

Yeah, I've been saying that Blackpool will get relegated for a while now.

But that doesn't stop them from scoring a lot of goals, and they have an excellent run of fixtures coming up. DJ Campbell did a cracking job for me earlier in the season, even when Blackpool weren't actually getting the results. See no reason why it couldn't be the same over the next four weeks where Blackpool have four home games.

Am I missing something ref Arshavin and Carroll ie both have a lot of transfers out today .. understand it with arshavin if people are trying to get in Lamps, though with Walcott a doubt ... though not with carroll as he is a good and cheap striker ..

Nolan and Saha out -> leaves me with 16.9 in the bank.

    Foster
    Vidic Baines Luiz
    AYoung Nani vdV ...
    van Persie Odemwingie ...
    (Begovic, R Johnson, Coleman, Ferguson)

    Option A:
Lampard and Hoilett in (0.0$ left)

    Option B:
Kalou and 9.8 forward (Bent or Berbs)
I'm interested in what you think of the Kalou idea.

And lastly - Odemwingie to play, R Johnson & Coleman to be benched. Any views?
